We live on a finite world, and most of the resources on it are limited or at least impractical for humans to reach. Rare earth metals and minerals used in high technology are a good example. If they are renewed, it is in geological time, not human time.

We shouldn't believe in a conspiracy because we like how it sounds, or because it fits with our ideology, but because the evidence supports it. A good example is Webster Tarpley, who I like on political/historical subjects, but he's basically a cornucopian on economics and resource issues because it fits his political world view. History shows that Nature will not conform itself to accommodate our ideologies.

Scientists can't give much credence to Richard Heinberg, a journalist and speaker, and associate of Immanual Velikovsky, author of "Worlds in Collision". Velikovsky was a psychiatrist who studied the mythologies and folk lores of various peoples and drew certain concluusions not verified from them. The second reference you gave was not convincing either. What is needed if the work of Kenney and his Russian colleagues and others is to really be challenged is scientific factual evidence.

Do not be so arrogant, please. Wikipedia is not a scientific journal and does not speak for the scientific community or for any part of it. In fact, it's not even a very good encyclopedia which it tries to pretend to be.
The US National Academy of Science is the most prestigious scientific organization in this country. It does not publish garbage or 'popular mainstream science' by its members. The internet is a good source for
valid imformation AND for idiotic opinions. Please be aware of that.
In science the only thing that really counts is evidence. This not a joking matter.
You should read the article authored by Dr. J.F. Kenney again and try to understand it.

David, this is not chapter and verse, but the information is in the interview's with Prouty. Prouty says all windows sealed, snipers with radios on top of every building on the alert for any window that is opened, manholes welded shut.

It should be what is done especially in a known hostile city like Dallas. Obviously it wasn't done there.
Tracy, Adele, while not a geologist, does have a PhD in microbiology and has worked as a research scientist all her (extemely interesting!) adult life. Not sure if you know that or not yet? Also even based on the Wiki article it does not say that abiotic oil does not/cannot exist but that there is no useful means of detecting abiotic deposits. Too expensive and not cost effective to locate in other words.

To make a proper analysis and judgement, I would require a great deal more info than an interview, so as to ensure that we're comparing matters fairly and accurately, as I can see all sorts of problems that might arise between say, one presidential motorcade that resulted in the planned assassination of a president, and others that didn't. Do we know the level of involvement of the Army in those previous motorcades where windows were left open, for example?
The fact is that there are so many possibilities involved, it would take a great deal of time and effort to reach that point. Also, Prouty is deceased and hasn't now the opportunity to provide a more comprehensive explanation. I found him to be a very pleasant and reasonable man and I feel sure he would've responded to such questions had he been able to, thus adding to our collective knowledge.
In reference to the security for President Kennedy in Dallas, after his trips to Miami, Tampa, Chicago, and the 400 or so letters threatening his life and mailed in 1963, in possession of the US Secret Service, one would think that he should have been provided better security than he had, especially in Dealey Plaza, the likeliest place for a shooting at his open limousine.
The head of the Dallas office of the Secret Service, Forrest Sorrels, who was riding in a car behind the President's limousine noticed the station wagon parked on top of the Grassy Knoll, and subsequently confronted the owner of it, Rubin Goldstein, whose business was called "Honest Joe's Pawnshop." The windows of the wagon were covered in cardboard, and a man stood on the runming board who probably shot the fatal shot to the right forehead of the President. That man may have been Roscoe White, a former US Marine, who was identified as "Geneva White's husband" by Beverly Oliver who ran across Elm Streer and up to the Grassy Knoll. She saw him in a Dallas policeman's uniform, but without a cap, badge or holstered gun. He was employed as a clerk and photographer by the Dallas Police Department. He was in training to become a police officer and had no right to wear such a uniform until he became a Dallas Police Officer, which he did a year later in 1964. He was a close friend of Jack Rubie's.
