The assassination plot of Papa Doc actually become in fruition as early as 1969. And, on April 21, 1971 Papa Doc dies, the cause of his death has never been made public, nor has his assassins. I know of a man who said to Sonia, "I now have blood on my hands", but she assumed it was another shark bite story, so she didn't press him of what he meant. He returned home from Haiti on April 21, 1971.

I've read about this somewhere in the distant past and think that the Ton Ton Macoute were involved in his assassination. But who the sponsor or sponsors were I don't know.

Actually, they had no involvement, although, they too were plotting his assassination, they also feared that if an assassination was carried out by them that Castro had over 15,000 Haitians living in Cuba that anyone of them would have turned out worst than Fidel, so their assassination plot was not carried out. Edwin offered to do away with the present Haitian leader, and so he met with leaders of the Haitian community in Canada for a proposed plan in order for there to be change on that island, and because Papa Doc would not recognize a Cuban government in exile on his island he had to go.

My father is the one who assassinated Papa Doc.
Why did your father assassinate him? I realise that he was a very nasty piece of work, obviously...
Obviously to make room for the Cuban exile types like those in south Florida. Murder incorporated was going on in the Caribbean to contain Castro. CIA power.

My father was caught on the island of Haiti wanting to set up a Cuban government in exile, Papa Doc warned my father that if he were to see him again he'd kill him. It's something I and my mother believe my father didn't take lightly. So, on April 21, 1973 my father visited Haiti once again, the day Papa Doc died.
