The firecracker thing? I remember on Bob Harris' forum, Harris himself became interested in this theory. It seemed ridiculous to me. He also insisted that we all see the broken window in the Dal-Tex building - the shooter himself broke the window so he could shoot through it. Huh? Why didn't he just open the window instead?

David Josephs Wrote:Of the 837 listed online as offering testimony 77 of them are listed as being at the assassination scene...

I can't see how ALL of them experienced the GK shot(s) yet that still leaves 53 not listed who would have been in DP and asked by someone about what they saw and heard on the GK.

I don't know CD to exaggerate... So I'm not sure how he arrived at that number...

The question is where is the documented evidence of any witness stating they heard an ear shattering roar and saw a flash of light from the GK, prior to hearing any shots. It stretches credulity to believe that they would remember hearing a firecracker but forget an ear shattering roar. Unless there were some Men in Black at work on the GK that day.
The description of a roaring sound fits nicely with at least a Connally shot before the extant 313 headshot. One not seen on film.

Roaring sound before or part of the Connally shot, step on the brakes (screeching), the limo slows down and a headshot ensues.

Once again: "With the presidential limo brought nearly to a halt by this explosion forward of the motorcade"

From one's vantage point, the immediate braking of a car from 13.69mph to 3.74 mph could give the impression that the car did stop (or actually did for a millisecond) during its initial rapid deceleration.

Merely repeating the quote, that you have been asked a question about, does not answer the question.

Ditto.

No,

It just means my interpretation of an explosion could equal a shot or part thereof.

What brought about the slowing of the limo?

How about a shot before it slowed.

We KNOW there was one shot (firecracker or bang) before (allegedly) the limo "slowed down," because JFK reacts to it by raising his hands to his throat, and Jackie puts her hand on his left arm. There are some people who think that shot came from the front and others who think the back.

It sounds like you are suggesting that there is some event, independent of the first shot, witnessed by a large number of people in Dallas, and yet no one has ever heard this story before, no has it appeared in any eyewitness statement.
Drew,

What are the slant distances given in Simmons testimony?

If a shot occurs approx 25ft prior to the extant 313 headshot, well after the "firecracker" shot circa frame 207 physical Elm St location, might the limo slow down at that point?

chris

P.S. What would be the reason for target practice at a specific distance not designated as part of the official story?
