I didn't know about the King comment by Obama.

Its what I suspected. They all know what happened to the sixties.
I think this kind of talk is like speaking Greek to a sea of depraved philistines at this point in America.
It's amazing how the corporate media manages to ignore the truly radical things MLK was saying about US foreign policy 1967-68. From MSNBC to Fox, they just ignore it. It doesn't fit with the nice safe image of King as civil rights hero.

Oliver Stone did a great job covering 1967-68 in his Untold History series (which I have on DVD, and highly recommend).
Obama is surely too smart to have believed it would be any different once he got into office? It's easy to see why he was selected as a candidate, but remains a complete mystery as to why he ran in the first place. Unless his meteoric rise was deliberately staged so he'd have little time to actually stand still and consider the reality of it.

Regardless of his legacy, the man will remain completely unknowable and go down as one of the least transparent Presidents in history.
A friend of mine really doesn't like him.

He thinks he was a creation of the Dems on the hill.

He represented to them what an acceptable black candidate would be, as opposed to Jessie Jackson.
Obama harnessed a tide of anti-Bush resentment and sold it to young people as the "Change" which got him elected. He then proceeded to sell out every single promise he made, reinforcing all of the Bush policies those who put him into office thought he would reverse. He is more like Lyndon Johnson than JFK because, as Johnson used Civil Rights to placate those who were screwed by Kennedy's assassination, Obama has used health care to cover-up his Johnson-like endorsement of the Bush agenda. America is run by the permanent war party and any opposition president is held in check by the Kennedy clause.

The Greek translation of the Hebrew word philistine is Palestinian.

It probably goes back to pre-Islam where the Philistines were unfaithful non-Jews.

He was a creation of the NWO or the Bilderburgers, whoever really runs the show.
And has been as bad as W.

Yep. And actually worse than Bush with regard to the sequelae of 9/11.
