* Libyan light sweet oil is one of the most highly sought after crude oil in the world because it is very cheap to lift - as little as $2 a barrel - and exceptionally easy (and cheap) to refine to petroleum products.
* President Obama is visiting the UK for 3 days and having meetings with David Cameron for "talks".
* Earlier in the week, the UK government and David Cameron announced they had no intention of honouring the 2003 commitment to consult Parliament before deploying British forces to war in an "emergency situation".
* A certain unnamed English supporter of Arsenal football club observes what he considers to be a noticeable increase in military air activity in and around his location. Fast jets and heli-choppers (possibly ferrying vast quantities of claret, crustaceans and caviar (but not corned-beef-ready-to-eat-meals) to the officers mess?)
Final score: 4-0
International oilball is a wonderfully skilled game with many almost skilled players almost scoring goals - most of them own goals. And, it makes oilball supporters almost proud -- except when they wonder if the lifting of cheap sweet crude oil is a de facto emergency..... given the current vast glut and low prices of oil on world markets?
Clearly the answer can only be no.
So: which country are Blighty and the Americans (or on behalf of the Americans) going to invade next?
Oh yeah, oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah, England! England!
Thank God for ISIS.
None of what will be would be otherwise.
