WASHINGTON — Former vice-president Dick Cheney, who has had five heart attacks in 32 years, was admitted to a Washington hospital for tests on Friday after he felt ill, according to a statement issued by his office.
Cheney, who was vice president under President George W. Bush, did not feel well and went to his doctors’ offices, the statement said.
“On the advice of his physicians, he was admitted to the [George Washington University] hospital for further testing. He is expected to remain in the hospital over the weekend,” according to the statement.
Cheney, who has a long history of heart problems, suffered his fifth heart attack in 32 years in February. He also suffered heart attacks in 1978, 1984, 1988 and 2000.
In 2001, Cheney had a heart defibrillator implanted to monitor his heart and shock it back into a normal rhythm if abnormal beating occurred.
Cheney’s office provided no further details.
Hate can cause health problems, but ask me if I care about this horrible example of [in]humanity.
