I put a critique of the Demos paper up on Wikispooks yesteday. It includes a letter I sent to Demos plus the paper itself. Reading that paper is an education in the tunnel vision of aspiring (fawning is probably a better word) academics.

I await their reply with interest and will post it on the article's discussion page as and when.

Who are Demos? Who funds them? I checked their financial statements and trustees (KPMG and WWF). There are 3 years behind in their financial statements. Market themselves as unique and independent (of what?) but hardly seems that way. http://www.demos.co.uk/about
And their 'Progressive Conservatism' idea looks just like so much wankery.

"So much wankery" - precisely so. They are so far up the backsides of those in, or aspiring to, political power that they cannot see daylight.

This is about the most thorough analysis of who and what they are that you're likely to find. I must get around to putting it on Wikispooks too:

Thanks for that Peter. It's a good run down of them. Looks like they sell themselves to the highest bidder. Or any bidder for that matter. I'd call them political whores but that is such a slur on all the good hard working honorable sex workers around.
