We've had a request from a member to consider establishing a new board about Sports. Especially things such as bribes, match fixing, and other murky things of interest. I was wanting to get some feedback from members if this is something of interest to them.
My personal thought is that there is no such thing as 'Sports' as it has long been turned into a business pure and simple. But I'm interested to see what other have to say.

If you truly wish to do something constructive: Every time my cursor moves over the "Share" or "Bookmark" features, everything comes to a sudden halt until, at its leisure, a small box opens and asks if I want to use features that I've never used and never will use.
This is so frustrating that on at least a half-dozen occasions I've declined to complete my posts.
I know, I know ... No great loss.

As for a sports section,I'm not real enthusiastic.If someone has a good story,I think that it can be added into an already existing section.JMHO
The degree of cheating and betting in sports isn't limited to professional entertainment; it is rampant in big-income collegiate ventures and more. I could dig out a reference to a web site devoted to ethics and character in sports (number of visits is still low).
From a personal standpoint, I don't have much interest in sports anymore... certainly golf, if you play it, is a great challenge... if you watch it, well.... as my interest is in the mental aspects, the strategy, the issues (psychology) around performance (without helpers), and if someone I know and care about is involved.
Otherwise... not at all.

Big sport has been converted into mainstream TV entertainment and is now the plaything of big business and needs to be seen in that context.
Winning and losing are by-products of the show.
Take, as an example, FI motor racing. It must now always come down to the last race in Abu Dhabi. Why? Because Abu Dhabi F1 track and facilities cost £15 billion --- far too much to have the championship done and dusted before it arrives there. Simply because no one would watch the final race because it would have no bearing on the championship.
Multiply this across the spectrum.
Big sport is now a hostage of the same money disease that holds most of us in its spell. It is a deep political subject in its own right.

This founder is agnostic re a dedicated Sports directory.

I'm with Charlie and Keith here.
However, Mr Reasonable, who is highly suspicious of Facebook and Twitter goshiteing suggests a compromise solution: is it possible to move the Bookmark toolbar somewhere else on the page where it doesn't constantly try to sabotage the act of posting?
