'Yuk' is too restrained.

That is seriously puke inducing stuff - and I mean SERIOUSLY.

Prime-time networked US TV too is my guess. It's far worse than our own Dale Wintons and similar - I simply could not watch it to the end. I really couldn't.

Sorry - my Blunder. All of post #1 - in spite of it saying it's Magda's, is in fact meeeee !

I seem to have edited Magda's original post instead of replying to it! The perils of logging is an and admin eh? - Duh.

Don't know how to get the original back but, since it consisted of just one word and an embedded video, maybe Magda could re-post it.

have the tapes arrived yet? Good?

They (audio CDs, actually -- although I think I'm the last person in America to have a new car with a CD changer AND cassette deck; thank God for Bose and Nissan) have not. I received shipping (from the U.K.) confirmation, and I expect them to arrive this week.

I'm eager to play TTSS. It's difficult to imagine a dramatization that could top the brilliant editing and arc-within-arc structure of Arthur Hopcraft's original screen adaptation. So too Sir Alec's embodiment of George Smiley.

But man, I'm open to the possibilities.

If only Anne were here to listen with me.

Perhaps I should join the cue.
