I'm trying to understand the precise strategy behind the appointment of each member of the WC. I've divided them into insiders and outsiders. I welcome all input/corrections/etc of course.
I'm especially puzzled by the appointment of John Sherman Cooper. What was the strategy/logic of selecting him? Did they merely need a Republican senator? He was not senate majority leader. Plus, he was reportedly close to the Kennedys. I don't get it.
Warren Commission Members/Insiders:
Gerald R. Ford, (R-MI): US Rep. Spy for FBI, who led the coverup. Did bio of Oswald/Patsy. Censored final report.
Allen W. Dulles: Protected those that did the assassination wet work/CIA including himself. Advanced Lone Nut cover story.
John J. McCloy: Protecting the interests of Business/MIC, funders of the assassination.
Warren Commission Members/Outsiders:
Earl Warren, Chief Justice of the United States: Added credibility to “investigation” and was controllable with blackmail.
Hale Boggs, (D-LA); U.S. Representative. House Majority Leader, therefore LBJ had to put him on commission. (Was unconvinced by final report but signed.)
Richard Russell, Jr., (D-GA); US Senator. Powerful Senator and LBJ mentor. (Was unconvinced by final report but signed.)
John Sherman Cooper, (R-KY); U.S. Senator. Member of Georgetown Set, liberal anti-communist. Worked on NATO pact. Supposedly close to Kennedy. (Was unconvinced by final report but signed.)
