The June 2007 ODE magazine reports on page 15 that:

"Monsanto goes GMO-free in its cafeteria"

"United Kingdom: From now on, staff at the British Headquarters of biotech giant Monsanto will be eating only non-genetically modified products on their lunch breaks. Foods containing genetically modified soy and corn are no longer available in the company cafeteria. Granada Food Services, which maintains the canteen, is said to be concerned about health risks. Monsanto's press department contends that the action was not the result of a boycott initiated by the worried employees of the U.S. multinational."
On the listserve, Janet Chrzan said this in response:
What is so wonderfully absurd about this is of course, is that ODE reported this straight (as a good thing), Monsanto is one of the if not THE - leading developer of corn and soy GMO, and that the employees are worried about ingesting the same foodstuffs they are foisting upon the world. Of course, if Monsanto states that their own products were NOT banned because of an employee boycott that means that they were indeed probably reacting to a boycott, which means that the corporate high-up employees of Monsanto are thoroughly, shockingly, robustly hypocritical.
This is Monty Python-type humor!
