I noticed that while it displayed her correct email address when you looked at the 'message', when you hit 'reply' there was a similar, but different address there - to which I sent a very angry message to the would-be theives. Problem is, who does one report such internet theivery to? They don't care if the Big Guys steal trillions and seem to care less if we get fleeced for a few hundred here and there. They are intent, however, on controlling our internet access and freedom of speech on it. Sorry about this second hack, Bernice! There are internet security programs for email.
Sign that address up for SPAM. It is only what is right....

Won't really work with this kind of email trojan. It enters as another spam message and when opened [some even when not opened!] starts collecting all email addresses in address book and then sends to the list the fake message and the redirect upon reply code. Unless one does some hunting on the internet with this, one wouldn't know which original message contained the trojan. There are much worse - I've had them. This one is comparatively innocent, but they likely sell on the email addresses, as well for other junk mail or who-knows-what. My neice had the exact same thing happen to her email account. I got a message she needed help in London when I knew she was in the hospital in California.
hi i just found out, that my email was hacked again on the 27th, i have not been on the pc till earlier today, so if you get a b/s message asking for money, you know what to do with it.it is crap......sorry about the a/hs out there..best b

Besides changing your mail program, perhaps, more important would be a good internet security program/virus program that watches both incoming and outgoing emails - they would catch the change in address and re-direction of the emails. Norton, BitDefender, Kaspersky and many other ones would do this. So, how is London? I imagine some people who live in London get that done to them too...I don't know if the program is 'smart' enough to change the location from the one apparent by the IP address, or just has a script of London. There is a website where one can report internet scams, but as you don't know which of your spam messages contained this, it is hard to report - and probably already has been. I still get endless variations on the 'Nigerian Scam' daily....or banks I never had an account in needing my details due to computer failure, etc. Planet of the Crooks and Apes.
thanks, Magda and Peter, London is great, first time here.....:hobbyhorse:..i wish........., any and all, i Cannot travel, so if ever you get such a message, shite can it....it is crap....some one thought it may be the same guilty that did so last year, but i have no idea, it is just a pita as all know, they took no emails this time, just the addresses, which i thought was of no real interest, but someone apparently does , obviously, kelly got hit awhile ago, so i guess they may make a yearly visit...??? i am suppose to have protection..ha from the server, which just very recently installed a brand new email system guess what it's shite, and have been having problems since they did, if it ain't broken, do not fix, should be the goal of servers imo..but..many thanks to all who have responded and by email.sorry bout all this....i must go as i am having a grand time right now in trafalgar square.:phone:and lunch is about to be served...pheasant under glass no less....:jumpingjoy:best b
ok here is the latest and hopefully the end of the story...:loco:the server discovered that not only did they hack my email account they then also created a new yahoo email ad using my name , so they have been receiving my emails since the 27th, no real concern there as at this busy time 99% are news alerts, anywho, they have deleted that service to the theives new email account, and are trying a trace, and no money i believe has been sent, see this type of thief is so dumb, they forget that phones were invented before emails...duh......anyhoo, watch your email, there is no program out there i have found out that can or will protect your email 100%...apparently from what i have found out, it is really not all that difficult to hack them, damn it...so hopefully all is well now in the no name email web world, the emails are coming through again, do i laugh or groan at the crap, that fies in, i do not know right now, but the probem has been found and disabled..thanks for your info..but watch your mails....best b:wavey::comfort:
If you get this from your server, shite can it , DO NOT REPLY....THIS IS THE LASTEST GOING ROUND...i have checked into it..best b
