Apparently killed himself after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

Top Gun is one of my Most Hated Movies.

Enemy of the State and Man On Fire are fine films.

As Creasy says:

Quote:Okay, my friend. It's off to the next life for you. I guarantee, you won't be lonely.

Tony Scott understood how symbolism and imagery worked.

He chose to end his life by jumping from a bridge.

Creasy's finest moment is an act of honour and selflessness on a bridge.

An act of redemption.

Who knows?
Christopher Walken's "masterpiece" cameo in Man On Fire:

I've been searching for a clean copy of the end scene of Man On Fire, on the bridge.

There aren't any I can find online.

This one is closest, but it's got a preposterous Polish voiceover.

If you have never seen Man On Fire, I strongly advise you NOT to watch the clip.

It remains my speculative suggestion that a man capable of crafting a scene of such emotional and redemptive power on a bridge laced with symbolic meaning may have chosen the manner and location of his death carefully.
Man On Fire.

A Life in Pictures.

Again, only for those who know the film....

NSA building million-square-foot complement to Ft. Meade terminator

Scott terminates

on a bridge to
Phil - the opening Congressman Jason Robards versus NSA apparatchik Jon Voight scenes still resonate.

1998 distribution - a prescient peek into the world of drones and cyber twitchery.

Harry Caul of The Conversation metamorphoses into Edward Lyle the NSA renegade.

Gene Hackman in fine form.

Like Man On Fire and Spy Game, a film about betrayal, selling out, the grubby nature of power, the momentary act of redemption.

Quote: Robert Clayton Dean: What the hell just happened?
Edward "Brill" Lyle: I blew up the building.
Dean: Why?
Lyle: Because you made a phone call!
