Correct, but let's not also forget that lovely simple flower...the poppy! [Hey, wasn't that the nickname of one of our Presidents - given to him when he was in Skull and Bones?! Rumors persist that his idiot son, also a President, was known to somehow ingest the dried powder made out of the same plant...and the dried powder of another plant commonly called Coca.] Our Presidents are addicted to many things...some physical, some financial, some related to power....and privilege/oligarchy. Any 'real' Presidents [embodying the ideals and directives of the Constitution, Nation, People, International Law] were summarily assassinated. Great system.....

Empire did not have to go to war for poppies. The CIA has been milking that one before and could do it with the black ops and bribes ... usual MO for CIA - drug and weapons running, money laundering. The war was to put bases in place, secure access to and block the Chinese from putting Afghanistan in their orbit (they do border it) from the energy reserves. $$$$$$$
Next up - the Caucuses... The empire is trying to pick off the former Soviet satellites and all the goodies which come with it. The MIC cashes out big time from these military ops and endless war is endless cash flow.
