RIP Harry Livingstone - Tracy Riddle - 10-06-2015

Weisberg, who had serious health problems in the 1990s, was actually a little afraid of Livingstone and I think contacted the police about him at one point because of some of his letters.

Bob O., who I'm told is a resident of Monterey and an independent researcher, was kind enough to respond. (My "quote" below I have edited slightly for spelling and in view of the public access to this forum.)

"Harry was ill most of 2013 due in part to mold in his apartment. We moved him to a new apartment in January of 2014. By June his health had continued to fail and he was hospitalized. He was appointed a conservator and moved into a facility, and then contracted pneumonia. I was told he passed in mid- February."

I got another email today from a fellow researcher Harry Livingstone thanked in one of his published acknowledgements. I am told that Harry had been battling cancer for a number of years, that he was living in assisted housing, but that his death still came as a shock.

I wish to thank the people that responded to my requests for information.

RIP Harry Livingstone - Dawn Meredith - 14-07-2015

Livingstone is totally correct about Harvard Extension. It is at night, many of the professors are Harvard professors, and some are from Boston University, Boston College, and Radcliffe. All great colleges. And yes anyone can sign up and go. This was all spelled out in the will of Harvard's founder. I completed Harvard Extension in three years (73-76) and I have a HARVARD degree, that says "Harvard University" at the top. Many classes in law are offered, so that may be what he meant by stating he studied law. I took at least six myself as I knew I wanted to apply to law school. My three letters of recommendation were all from Harvard professors _ Regie Healey with whom I took several summer school seminars in law and received A's. A second was from Prof Walter McCann, who was head of the graduate school of Education at Harvard. He also taught a legal class in which I received an A. The third was Sophie Freud Lowenstein, who taught a summer seminar in psych. (Also received an A). The summer classes I took were at Harvard itself, not via the extension program. The classes and level of intellectual ability expected at the Extension school were the same as Harvard's day college. The sole difference was that the classes in the evening were far less expensive, in keeping with the wishes of the school's founder.

Although I have this book, I did not remember him discussing Harvard extension or Lifton being critical.
