It's the usual republican movement that favours abolishing the crown which is supported by a number of media outlets.

BBC R4 Documentary - 'The Marburg File'
Presented by Dennis Blakeway
Produced by Nigel Acheson
Broadcast August 31, 1995
Coded from tape at 128/44.1
Towards the end of the war in Germany in 1945 a couple of
GIs discovered the German Foreign Ministry's archive. They
just prevented some German soldiers from destroying the lot.
The files were moved to Marburg castle for safety. Summaries
were sent to London and Washington for review. Papers dealing
with the Duke of Windsor were discovered. A couple of months
after this discovery, Anthony Blunt (then working for KGVI's
wife), showed-up and filleted the archive of these items.
What he didn't know was that there were duplicates of the
files, duplicates that ended up in the US.
This programme is about these - and other papers - and the
[attempts to have them destroyed].

Thanks for this Michael, I've been wracking my mind trying to remember the name of the Schloss where Blunt retrieved these papers from - and also tried to Google it, but got no hits to various search terms, so am really pleased to have this.

Murdoch's always been very anti monarchy.

He prefers to rule the world from a desk instead of a throne.

Arguably the same thing with different embellishments.:Nazis:

Mother Was a Blackshirt
BBC Radio 4
04 Jan 2010
In 1914 Norah Elam was placed in a Holloway prison cell with Emmeline Pankhurst for her involvement with the Suffragette movement. In 1940 she returned to the same prison with Diana Mosley, but this time for her involvement with the fascist movement.
James Maw explores this story and how Norah Elam's fascist philosophy grew directly out of her involvement with the suffragettes, and how subsequently the British fascist movement became largely driven by women. James tells how the first British fascist movement was founded by a woman, and that it was the leading lights of the Suffragettes who, along with Oswald Mosley, founded the British Union of Fascists.

I have no idea what this stuff below is, but it says "Embed Code to share this file on websites and forums". Whateverr:

Doesn't like the competition I bet. Likes to be the one moving the chess pieces.

If he ever became Der Fuhrer though, he would definitely wear a nice frock...

I have scoured the internet looking for a picture of Murdoch in a frock. There is not one to be found any where on my search this evening. This is either a serious lack of imagination by the meme makers, cartoonists and artists everywhere to mock a pompous figure so seriously needing it, and I doubt that is the case, or it could be there is an invisible army of junior News Limited interns working overtime disappearing and hoovering away any evidence of the cock in a frock....

Maybe he sticks to wearing ladies underwear like J EDna Hoover?

Always thought I'd look good in Laura Ashley.
I kinda see Murdoch as a power behind the mythical throne (having studied the diagram on page 5 in book "Who Runs This Place?: The Anatomy of Britain in the 21st Century" http://www.amazon.co.uk/Who-Runs-This-Place-Anatomy/dp/0719565669 ) I conclude it's just a mushy, amorphous miasm up there of inbred & cynical self-interested & competing factions, which is a good part of the reason why we don't make aeroplanes anymore, or have a fishing fleet, or a fleet.

Quick search for "dark forces" and I got http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/uk/article1953372.ece -
"The Queen warned butler to beware of dark forces at work'
By Steve Bird and Sam Lister Published at 12:00AM, November 6 2002
PAUL BURRELL claimed last night that the Queen warned him that there were dark forces at work in Britain that could threaten him.
The former butler said the warning was issued during a three-hour meeting soon after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1997. He said the Queen looked him in the eye and said: "There are powers at work in this country about which we have no knowledge."
She is said to have added: "Be careful, Paul, no one has been as close to a member of my family as you have." which possibly explains all the bloody "butler" refs I get. Not sure how that sits with the blizzard of 'distancing' "America"/"Obama"/"politics" refs I'm getting.

Media pundits were mumbling about a "withholding evidence" charge on that one. Ahem, CPSbollocks.
