I just hope the up the number of secret services and that they truly do thier jobs this time. We don't want another Dallas. But we know that if the bastards decide to take him out it will be a plane crash --(like JFK Jr)- or an untraceable heart attack or cancer like Ruby....WE will know...

The best we can hope for is that he surrounds himself with advisors who know true history.

Ya know that's an excellent point Dawn. It's been apparent to me for years that many African Americans know the dark secrets, the deep politics. I mainly learned them after the advent of the internet.
I'm not just assuming Obama knows some dark secrets, he tipped us off in his famous race speech when he acknowledged that many AAs believe that AIDS was introduced into the population for the purpose of black genocide. I've heard that from black contacts since 1990. When I first heard it I thought it was incredible. I now find it quite credible.
I think that whites have long been perceived by AAs as saddly naive. And that perception is based on the fact that whites were naive. Thus episodes like the OJ verdict, which shocked whites but was likely based on the fact that AA's were victimized in the shadows by corrupt law enforcement for decades, so of course they didn't trust the racist cop who testified.
Well thanks to the internet we've all seen countless YouTube videos of corrupt and violent cops. We've seen videos of street protests, people exercising the first amendment rights they thought they had, being maced and tazed and arrested for no legit reason. It think many whites are now much less naive.
From what little I've seen of Rev Wright he seems to know the dark secrets of his country. From what little I know of President-Elect Obama, he has learned much from Rev Wright. I hope this knowledge serves President Obama well.

What is you opinion -if any- of the veracity of LHO's alleged girlfriend, who worked with (murdered) Dr. Mary Sherman and others in NO on this project? (Her name escapes me at the moment, I know the second I post this it will hit me

Yes, I have read the original, but not the reissue which features Judyth Baker. I have reservations about the book, because so much of it reads like disinformation to me. This seems to be especially true since he later included the Judyth story, which is wholly-hokum. But even disinformation books often have nuggets of good information in them.

I found Judyth's book fascinating and quite credible. I had read Haslam's Ferrie, Mary and the Monkey Virus years ago, before anyone heard of Mary Vary Baker. Then I read the updated edition, which is much better. There were changes made in addition to the additional chapter which enlighten the reader as to Haslam's long-term interest in the monkey research that went on at Tulane.
In my opinion, there was a connection between certain universities in the South that were struggling to build up research facilities for decades--beginning at about the same time that Wilson became president--while at the same time selling medical services to anti-Communist dictators in various Central and South American countries. There seems to have been both a legitimate research group as well as some type of off-the-books network. Vary was hired to work on the legitimate project but says she met Oswald accidentally at the Post Office and was introduced to others in the black network and was therefore allowed to remain there for the summer.
Oswald never told her what intelligence group he was with which had loaned him to the CIA, but while she was working with Ferrie and Dr. Sherman on developing a cancer virus that could be used to kill Castro, she did learn that Oswald was being sent to Mexico, hoping to find a way to get the virus into the hands of someone who could have Castro injected with it.
Both she and Haslam attempted to explain how the cancer virus they were developing in Ferrie's apartment became tainted with one or more other monkey viruses then unknown, which seem to be identified with HIV/AIDS.
It's been well more than a year since I read either book, so I may have some of the facts skewed, but will be happy to look it up if anyone isn't already familiar with this story.

for over a year have found it to be as full of holes as Swiss cheese.
She is believed to have a medical form of "Munchausen by Proxy"
syndrome in which the patient suffers from a psychological need
to insert oneself into historical situations. Remember ANASTASIA of
Russia, and all of the women who sincerely believed that they were
the real Anastasia?
There is little doubt that Tulane, Dr. Oschner and maybe Mary Sherman
were likely working on covert medical projects. The Judyth fiction perhaps
was introduced into the revised edition to DISCREDIT good information
that had been disclosed in the original version.
Also consider that LHO was being very strictly controlled by his CIA
handlers for a specific project. It is highly unlikely that they would
have allowed his use in OTHER projects.
