A lot of things have. I'd be interested in how Mellen covers it.

As far as I know, this book is still a long way off. I don't see it yet listed as a book soon to be published - but I will be in contact with Joan soon and ask. That said, I know she will never say that LBJ was a or the mastermind. She believes the CIA and other 'core elements of power' (such as JCOS/military/MI, and other power groupings) in the USA were behind it. LBJ was but one of many beneficiaries, and may have [my own take] gotten wind of it slightly before the event. Hoover knew of it quite a ways before - and Hoover was fairly friendly with LBJ, but he could have learned of the plot from his good-old Texas buddies too. It may have been essential for him to be in the know [at least generally, if not the details] by the Dallas trip.

The issues at hand in this thread do not essentially alter the facts about LBJ's role. He was not the mastermind any more than the Mafia were....these are red herrings tossed out by the cover-up or, in some cases championed by those who have blinders on about the totality of the evidence, and without a working knowledge of deep political events.

I'm not a subscriber to the 'LBJ did it' theory. But if I assume for the sake of argument what Ms. Mellen says is true,
her argument still falls flat. She seems to maintain that if she disqualifies Mac Wallace, she has also disqualified LBJ.
I don't think one necessarily follows the other.

If you ask, cui bono? LBJ was one of many who benefited from the assassination, like Peter Lemkin points out.
But even if LBJ was a sponsor or a facilitator, he'd have to be an idiot to use Mac Wallace for the job.
There was no arm's length between them. Their relationship was too well known. The job was too big,
too complex, too intricate.

This was not a lone-gunman project. LBJ and Wallace did not have the necessary skill set.

If there were fingerprints of Wallace on boxes at the TSBD, in all likelihood Wallace didn't even put them there there. The box could have been handled by him in another location completely, and moved to the TSBD to set up LBJ - not Wallace. The ultimate manipulators and planners of all aspects of the assassination likely added this detail to make sure they could forever control LBJ - 'play along, or we have your mechanic's fingerprints in the TSBD!' kind of polite threat.........or some minor variation, thereof. Alternatively, the prints could have been transferred from Wallace's fingers to the boxes just as they were from Oswald's hand to the rifle [after he was dead!].

Peter/ Marc: That is also what I think. And I recall Simkin thought this too, unlike what Joan said. I do believe Wallace killed many for LBJ but I don't think he shot at JFK. He may have been up there, as a spotter or something but given the way he mangled other murders, I doubt LBJ would have him up there as a shooter.

Why don't we wait and see what IAI actually says before we assume that there's been some sort of covert op to alter their records?

Let's just use Occam's Razor here for a sec; what's more likely, that a person (unknown to her) is lying to Joan Mellen, or that the CIA staged a Watergate to plant a "note" in an IAI file to lead people away from a suspect that you guys all believe is a red herring, or a cover up, to begin with?

I do not intend to address the points made in Joan's speech in this forum. I have discussed it with Joan and we have agreed to meet after William Reymond and my book is released this fall (Killing JFK). I would offer the following comments. Our original "JFK, the last witness" was published in five languages but not in English. In it, we told the Billie Sol Estes story. In our discussions with BSE, we soon discovered that he was not telling us the truth and we turned to investigating his story. We also produced a video for French Television, which was later shown in other countries and the Japanese version was actually put on the internet. It was shown daily in the Conspiracy Museum. I would summarize by making the following points. 1) Jay Harrison's files were used extensively and Jay was interviewed on the video. 2) Nathan Darby was interviewed extensively and his interview was on the video. 3) Most of BSE's allegations about the deaths surrounding his operation were not true. 4) His relationship to LBJ was not as represented by BSE but more than the Johnson family will admit. Note: We were given access to BSE's business and personal files, which occupied an entire house outside of Abilene Texas. We located correspondence between him, Johnson and Cliff Carter. I still have the pertinent files. 5) We located and published the transcript of the Grand Jury Testimony of BSE and Clint Peoples. Clint Peoples had a deep interest in both the Marshall and Kennedy murders. His testimony is more important than BSE.

With regard to the murders, most of them were suicides. I even discussed with the District Attorney the possibility of BSE or his Brother being at the Marshall murder. He was not interested in pursuing the case any further. I had the same discussion with BSE's daughter, Pam.

The autobiography issued by BSE was the english draft of the Published book, which BSE modified to include his version of both the Marshall and Kennedy Assassination We now know how he obtained the assassination stories. Killing JFK details the true role of Malcolm Wallace in the Kennedy Assassination. He did not fire any shots on that day. He did not meet Oswald in New Orleans. In all of our investigation, we have yet to find any facts, which show that Johnson knew about the assassination before it happened. There are many reason for him to have been but no concrete facts.

Why in the world would you decide to publish a JFK and LBJ-related book in several languages, but not in English?! And shucks, don't be shy to comment on Mellen's talk. So, you are going to tempt us with "the true role of Malcolm Wallace in the Kennedy Assassination" - but not tell us details here, and it is not in English at this time....? I can read several of the major European languages - or is it in Urdu, Tlingit, Hungarian, Sioux, and Tamil?

The publisher was Flammarion from France and they were unable to find a publisher in US. It was not our call. The new book will be published in English and French. I answered you private email about wanting to discuss things privately with "I'm busy" and I am. So are you now going to attack me in public? If you can read all those languages then buy the first one. It is in French, Spanish, Japanese and Astonian. The French version has not been remaindered.

It was a question, not an attack, and the above was written before I sent you a PM - thus, before your response/non-response.
