Webbgate: Congrats to James DiEugenio - Drew Phipps - 20-10-2014 It has been said that Bob Woodward was a CIA asset and that the Watergate affair was a CIA operation. That being said, the Watergate break in, and its collateral investigation, actually took quite a long time to gain any traction with the mainstream media. It wasn't really a headline grabber until the summer of 1973 when there were hearings in the Senate. It wasn't really a headline grabber until the summer of 1973 when there were hearings in the Senate. That's what I mean. If the actual break-in was a CIA operation, and Woodward was CIA, why would Woodward contribute to putting fellow CIA assets behind bars? Webbgate: Congrats to James DiEugenio - Drew Phipps - 20-10-2014 might be rival factions inside the CIA. Webbgate: Congrats to James DiEugenio - Jim Hargrove - 20-10-2014 Jack Ruby was some sort of CIA asset.... Webbgate: Congrats to James DiEugenio - R.K. Locke - 20-10-2014 Magda Hassan Wrote:R.K. Locke Wrote:I believe that a Danny Casolaro movie is currently in the works. http://variety.com/2013/film/news/sundance-caliber-aviation-pact-on-casolaro-1118064826/ That is the most up-to-date info about it as far as I can tell. It's still classed as "in development" on IMDB so I imagine it will take another year or two to see the light of day. Webbgate: Congrats to James DiEugenio - R.K. The former is possible but the latter is highly unlikely. Webbgate: Congrats to James DiEugenio - Paul Rigby - 20-10-2014 Jim Hargrove Wrote:Jim DiEugenio Wrote:Blessed Bob Parry replies to slimy Washington Post and posthumous attack on Webb: Dick Starnes, the Scripps-Howard journalist responsible for the startling piece to which Krock took umbrage, owed some parts of his despatch to fellow American journalists, most of whom had read CIA Financing Planned Coup D'Etat, The Times of Vietnam, 2 September 1963. The latter's a remarkable piece in and of itself, and thus one assiduously ignored by historians ever since. The CIA wrecked the Times of Vietnam printing press shortly thereafter, prompting a reprint a week later. As Hanoi had copies of the original, the only people being kept in the dark by the Agency's activities were, as ever, the American people. Plus ca change. Webbgate: Congrats to James DiEugenio - Tracy Riddle - 21-10-2014 With his Navy background, Woodward was more likely a military-intelligence asset. Remember the Moorer-Radford spy ring, and how the JCS were spying on Nixon and Kissinger's foreign policy. Webbgate: Congrats to James DiEugenio - Albert Doyle - 21-10-2014 In his Washington Post attack on Webb Jeff Leen quoted Nick Schou as if he also shared Leen's viewpoint on Webb's accuracy. From the Post's comments section: " Narco News caught up with Nick Schou on Friday and asked for his thoughts on Jeff Leen's interpretation of his words. Schou replied: "I'm glad this guy wrote what he did because it reveals exactly why the movie gets the story so right. The writer of this worthless and whiny op-ed perfectly captures the craven mentality of cowardice of most of Webb's critics at the three major papers. And he totally takes my statement out of context. I do believe that Dark Alliance contained major flaws of hyperbole, but they were mostly the story's logo and a few unnecessary phrases that overstated the evidence Webb had at the time. What I've always argued is that had Webb been allowed to keep writing, and had the other papers including the Post actually done their job, the true extent of the story would have been revealed. The fact remains that Webb's story nonetheless forced the CIA to admit that the true flaw of Dark Alliance was hardly one of hyperbole but the exact opposite the story radically understated the scandal." " Webbgate: Congrats to James DiEugenio - Jim DiEugenio - 22-10-2014 Jeff Leen got buried by Parry and Al GIordano. ANd the comments on his piece are overwhelmingly negative. The Post does not understand that the days of the MSM are numbered. Like with Stalin, we are just waiting for the death rattle. |
