Aircraft and the Twin Towers - Tracy Riddle - 20-12-2014 Do they have a camera on the top of the antenna on the Empire State Building? it would be taller than the Twin Towers. Aircraft and the Twin Towers - Drew Phipps - 20-12-2014 I've never heard of a camera up there but here's some info from the ESB's web site: "The Empire State Building is the center of the New York City and tri-state region's broadcasting operations. Its technology supports delivery of broadcasting signals to cable and satellite systems and directly to television and radio receivers reaching over 7.4 million television households, representing over 6.5% of all TV households in the U.S. Over 130 antennas provide a variety of point-to-point radio and data communications services to utility companies, telecommunications providers and public safety agencies. Read more info on our Broadcast page." So there certainly could be a camera with a live feed. Also, there is a ladder up the outside of the antenna tower for maintenance that (authorized) people climb above 1400 feet. If you had access and were crazy enough to climb up there to get a shot of the Twin Towers, it could be done. it would seem that the story of how that shot got taken would be a newsworthy event in and of itself. There is one other thing. The road grid is not perfectly aligned to the compass, it is more aligned to the island which runs mostly NE/SW. So actually the ESB is NE of the WCT. The buildings are aligned to the roads as well. If we think from the camera angle that the camera is due north of the WTC it cannot be from the ESB. Aircraft and the Twin Towers - Lauren Johnson - 20-12-2014 Drew Phipps Wrote:I've never heard of a camera up there but here's some info from the ESB's web site: I vaguely remember that when I was watching the events live, I remember an announcer saying something like 'This is the view from the Empire State Building.' Aircraft and the Twin Towers - Peter Lemkin - 20-12-2014 There is no camera mounted on the antenna of the ESB. Not that one would be impossible - but it would take a LOT of work and foreknowledge. I'm not even sure if that would be high enough for the view seen. You're grasping at straws. Aircraft and the Twin Towers - Drew Phipps - 20-12-2014 This is a picture with the ESB in the foreground. If you look carefully at the WTC, it would appear that the camera is actually about level with the roof (of the WTC), but clearly that is not the case, as the camera isn't even as tall as the ESB. Perhaps the appearance of the WTC roof is an optical illusion. Perhaps the relative elevation of the ground floor of the buildings is enough to account for the difference, the ESB is farther from the river (and maybe from sea level) than the WTC Aircraft and the Twin Towers - Drew Phipps - 20-12-2014 I also note that the footage compared in the OP was from WNBC which owns the very highest portion of the ESB's antenna. It is also interesting that the plane or helicopter from which live clip 2 was taken begin to zoom in on the building BEFORE the "plane" struck the building, however it could be that a sharp eyed camera guy might have spotted what the much lower resolution camera couldn't, something approaching the building. Query. If clip 1 is a stationary mounted camera, why are the towers slanted at an angle. You would assume a building mounted camera would be correctly vertically oriented. Clip 1 has to be a handheld. Aircraft and the Twin Towers - Charles Keeble - 26-12-2014 Video taken from north or so, should show smoke going to the right and away if there's a hurricane to the SE. Aircraft and the Twin Towers - Albert Doyle - 27-12-2014 I don't think the person who made this video realizes the sky being behind the towers in the still video means it was taken from a lower perspective. If you notice, he does a background analysis of the ground and horizon with the helicopter video but doesn't do that with the still video. If he had, his own logic would show that there being sky behind the tower in the still video shows its point of origin is lower than the helicopter shot. He's simply wrong about both videos showing the top of the roof. His graphic showing this is something he just added. He has very poor observation skills because simple logic tells you the reason the plane is highlighted by open sky in the still shot is because it was taken from much lower down. He creates a strawman to deal with this by saying "Debunkers say there is extra haze blocking the horizon in the still video." Rubbish. There's obviously no haze. You're looking at plane with obvious clear sky behind it. The only reason he creates that strawman is because he knows he can't account for it. Aircraft and the Twin Towers - R.K. Locke - 13-03-2015 Interesting presentation about possible video fakery around 9/11: I'm not really sure what to make of this so I'm posting it for the purposes of further discussion. Aircraft and the Twin Towers - Tracy Riddle - 13-03-2015 Fortunately that skyscraper in Dubai didn't collapse into its own foundation.
