Maybe. Worth a try.

Kennedy Must be Killed (novel) - Tracy Riddle - 03-02-2015

One of the fascinating things about this novel is the main character, who is a naive, patriotic, brainwashed "good American," sincerely believing everything he has been taught about the "American way of life" being threatened by Communism and other foreign ideas. This obviously can lead people to justify all kinds of atrocities in their minds - making heroes of snipers and torturers, for example. Or dropping napalm or DU on civilians. Or assassinating Americans who threaten "American exceptionalism."

A Bush-voter in other words...

Martin White Wrote:As a UK citizen, I am accustomed to being ripped off for everything from gas to computer products,

In 2000 when I was in Berlin, a fella I was with compared VW Beatle prices as he was after buying one - same spec car - in .de £10,000, in Brit £15,000. UK's a corporate Treasure Island.

Kennedy Must be Killed (novel) - Gordon Gray - 05-02-2015

Just started reading this. Interesting premise. Couple of early bones to pick. One; CE 399 was not the bullet found on a stretcher, it was most likely a bullet test fired into cotton or water and substituted at the FBI lab, and two you can say what you want about JFK's womanizing or his being a spoiled rich playboy benefiting from his father's money, power, and influence, but he was not a churlish oaf, as he is depicted in the early Georgetown bar scene. The man had style, if nothing else.

Almost every scene, incident or encounter with a famous person seems to be taken from some other book, but I don't know what the source of the young Kennedy scene was.

I agree about CE 399. Also, the Umbrella Man wasn't really pumping the umbrella up and down in the air.

I'm finished the book, and overall I think it's pretty good. It has a nice little twist at the end. I do feel he spent too much time on JFK's personal life, and not enough on educating the reader about his dovish policies. Still, he outlines a very plausible scenario.

O'Reilly's book Killing Kennedy made a lot of money because it emphasized JFK's sex life. You'll never get an American public that likes John Wayne sniper movies to pay attention to Kennedy's peace initiative.

Kennedy Must be Killed (novel) - Jim Hargrove - 23-02-2015

I'm still only about 70 percent through the book. Had to put it down for a week or two because of the incessant JFK bashing, which goes on ad nauseam and to me, at least, far surpasses anything required to establish the assassin's disdain for his target. This book attempts to destroy two subjects: the USG version of the Kennedy assassination, and President Kennedy's character.

I'll finish reading it, even though I have to hold my nose through most of it.

Just finished it myself Jim. I agree the scenario for the assassination is credible, but IMO is only there to draw the reader in and expose them to the relentless JFK bashing. By the time you are through, if you didn't know better you might believe we were lucky they did kill JFK. I think it is disinformation.
