Russia is now denying that there is "any evidence of terror" and looking for mechanical failure; not surprisingly, the Russian airline itself is claiming terrorism. Looks to me like everyone's looking out for themselves and maybe no one is interested in the truth.
It seems like a poor idea now to deny that the pilot used the radio to notify ground control about the problem. With the denial of publicly reported facts, you're going to build in doubt to your interpretation of the event, and add credibility to any contrary scenarios.

Shortly after taking off from Juba airport the plane came down on the banks of the White Nile River, leaving a tail fin and lumps of fuselage strewn in vegetation close to the water.
The plane may have had about 20 people on board, including crew and "probably" 10 to 15 passengers, Ateny said, but added: "We need to confirm how many people were on board."

A police officer, who did not give his name because he was not authorised to speak to the media, told Reuters at the scene that at least 41 people died, but said the number could climb. The Reuters witness said he saw 41 bodies at the site.
Earlier, South Sudanese media had said the cargo plane carried five Russian crew and seven passengers. South Sudan Tribune on Twitter also reported two survivors, one of them a child.

Some agency's sense of 'payback' for the shootdown in Ukraine? [even though evidence points to it NOT being done by the Russians]. If the Russians find evidence of something like that....watch out [and don't fly anywhere]!

In contrast to the media's reaction to the plane that came down in Ukraine, it seems deeply suspicious. Why aren't we getting the same hysteria? In the UK at least, the coverage seems subdued and mellow.

Strange things going on behind the scenes. Russia has just halted all flights in and out of Egypt and is now saying they have new evidence and won't rule out that there might have been a bomb on the plane.
At the moment, to me, with what little is known, a bomb seems likely, but as to who put it there is quite another matter...for many groups and countries would love to do it and make it look like someone else did...i.e. false-flag.

For me, a false flag is a real possibility. Russia's military entry into Syria shocked Washington to the core and I feel that they would be delighted to cause mayhem to them for having the nerve to thwart US designs in Syria.
I've been pondering the strangeness of the sudden UK's decision to cancel its planned air campaign in Syria back in 2013 - followed by the US, and Obama's demand to the French to stand down. I smelled a rat at the time and wondered if Russia had made it's willingness to defend Assad known? All very circumstantial I know, but I wonder if Russia and Syria had a secret defence pact that Syria triggered as the minutes ticked down for British and French aircraft to begin bombing Damascus, and the Russians told Washington if this campaign went ahead they would be forced to intervene as a consequence?

You can tell the lie to the event by the western media response to the downing of this plane and deaths of all on board and compare that to the downing of the MH17 and the deaths of all those passengers. Different enemies. Different out comes desired. Different voices heard. Different grief. Where is the coverage of the individual bodies repatriated to Russia? Where is the support for the Russian campaign against ISIS? Where are the public denunciations of ISIS for this terrorist act by the western governments? Where, outside of Russia, are the public memorial services and the condolence books? The silence is deafening.

What I don't ken, is how, after a year or so of the 'western' coalition air campaign, in which 22,000 bombs have been dropped, why after 5weeks or so, the Russkis would suddenly be targeted. I gather that western security agencies/companies have been involved in improving the security in/around Sharm el Sheik for c.9months, according to tv msm vagueness. I have this strong suspicion that the west - loosley speaking, are bigging-up ISIL-land as a neat place to go live, for some, utilising the thing as an opportunity, rather than seeing it as problematic. Maybe it's the case that 22,000 bombs they dropped, missed the professed targets but strikes the right PR for domestic consumption; ISIL's territory has increased, and I gather their numbers have too, since the grand strategy of deliberate failure began - deliberate failure 'cos it's boots on the ground that'll trounce 'em, and that does not mean the FSA or the Kurds - or the Iraqi army, for sure. I wonder if what their is of the air campaign, is making the attempt to push ISIL westwards, into Syria, for purpose.
Weren't they saying a yr. ago or so, that there were c.65,000 ISIL types, which, if one bomb hit one loony, would've represented quite a hit to ISIL's numbers... Gotta love these for-profit endeavours. I'm calling these ISIL-types, boogeymen, from now on; it's like bogeymen, but more choreographed.
