Kennedy Must be Killed (novel) - Jim DiEugenio - 05-04-2015 There was another novel like this called Surrounded by Enemies. The author sent it to me after he saw that I had reviewed Greenfield's novel, If Kennedy Lived, negatively. Twyman's book I thought was a real disappointment. His theory of the crime was so lame, that I did not even think it merited discussion. And his picture of Kennedy was so shallow and distorted that it may have been written by David Horowitz and Peter Collier. Its very clear that Twyman bought all that Bob Loomis BS about Kennedy that I pointed out in "The Posthumous Assassination of John F. Kennedy." Plus, like Tony Summers, he bought Hemming hook, line and sinker. (You know, Gordon Winslow's buddy.) What kind of writer today can be taken seriously who discounts the Paines, what was going on in New Orleans with Banister, Ferrie and Shaw and others, and Allen Dulles, but says it was really LBJ and Hoover. Hoover didn't figure out Mexico City until six weeks after the fact! I mean his book was reminiscent of the Torbitt Document, as far as I was concerned. All the crap we have been trying to neutralize. Even the much vaunted stuff on the Z film alteration was not that impressive. There were a few good things in the book, like the interview with McNamara on the Bay of Pigs. But that did not balance out the 600 page length and all the misleading stuff.. To say that someone like LBJ was morally outraged by Kennedy's cheating on his wife? Can the man be serious? The worst thing about Twyman's book is that, incredibly, Philip Nelson took it seriously. And it served as the inspiration for his LBJ did it book. Nelson is a real piece of work. Because now he has written another book saying LBJ was behind the attack on the Liberty. Its amazing to me that with all the great work being done on Kennedy's presidency by authors like Robert Rakove and others, that these guys swallow Horowitz, Collier, and CIA asset Hersh instead. Not realizing that their stuff is a smoke screen on Rakove's. There was even a trace of this in Stone's installment on JFK in the film of Untold History. The thing is, these people don't even know who Bob Loomis is. In a review I have coming out at CTKA on Two Days in June, I go into Gerald Posner's benefactor Loomis some more. Loomis found out that if he could not cut off the evidence in the JFK case, he could at least tarnish his legacy so that would rationalize his assassination. Incredibly, some people bought this. Kennedy Must be Killed (novel) - Tracy Riddle - 06-04-2015 Jim, I don't think you can discount the puritanical hypocrites on the Right in this country, and the role their phony morality could play in enlisting extra help in an assassination plot (MLK is another example) - once the decision has already been made to remove them on "national security" grounds. The scandal sheets that circulated on the Far Right in the 1960s were full of gossip about the personal lives of the Kennedys and MLK (including stories about a previous marriage before Jackie). Even if the stories were not true, the point is that these people believed them (like the people today who think Obama is a gay Marxist Muslim from Kenya). I grew up around a lot of far-right Christians. To some of these folks, promiscuity is the greatest crime they can think of, and should be punished severely. They may forgive it among their own kind, but if a person is a Leftist, then they want the wrath of God to come down on them. The security-stripping that happened to both JFK and MLK might have happened this way - otherwise "decent" Americans might think it necessary to remove "moral degenerates" from positions of power. I think the good thing about Kennedy Must Be Killed is that it depicts a highly compartmentalized operation, so that even the Grassy Knoll shooter isn't sure who the top plotters were. Many "patriotic" people were enlisted in the plot by giving them phony reasons to participate - JFK/MLK are "endangering the country, they are communist dupes, promiscuous liars, etc." They weren't going to be told, "We need to kill them because they want a more peaceful world, and we want war." Kennedy Must be Killed (novel) - Albert Doyle - 06-04-2015 Tracy Riddle Wrote:Jim, I don't think you can discount the puritanical hypocrites on the Right in this country, and the role their phony morality could play in enlisting extra help in an assassination plot (MLK is another example) - once the decision has already been made to remove them on "national security" grounds. Absolutely right. America is really a highly functional fascist state at the core. It's main operational fronts are all strictly fascist at the functional level that is then protected by a buffer of corrupted government process in order to conceal this displaced modality. It's a scam-like process where the fascist right gets what it wants and achieves its non-democratic desires while the people are deliberately mired by a duplicitous government that makes sure those who commit this dishonest form of government are safely protected from any control by the people or accountability. This country is ripe for revolution. Only the problem is it is so corrupted from the right side that any revolution will probably be used as an excuse to finish the job and install the fascist government they have been working towards with this present system. Kennedy Must be Killed (novel) - Edwin Ortiz - 30-04-2015 Just finished the book and i couldnt put it down ..it reads like a soap opera with loads of information..Yes one can question it but it was fascinating how the author put everything together and i can see how a person can be converted to a right wing nut...I highly recommend it if you can understand the kennedy bashing but it was there in our history especially below the mason dixon line ...i think it takes a power corrupts point of view ...
