Perhaps the greatest tribute that could be made to Mr. Judge's legacy would be for someone to step forward and take steps to keep COPA alive. Wouldn't John have appreciated that more than any other gesture of remembrance? There are some other researchers in the Dallas area.... and this certainly doesn't have to happen right away.

JJ lived in DC. But I cannot imagine what would be required. JJ was not the greatest at delegating.

The link to the [not official] obit is in this thread above somewhere. One can add messages on two places I know on the internet...on the COPA webpage and the other. I've been out of the country for many years, but was at the initial planning meeting for COPA. I also kept in contact by email over the years with JJ and others involved plus, for many years attending COPA meetings every year; after moving to Europe only keeping in contact via email. COPA then officially disbanded, but JJ kept it going single-handedly, which is quite a feat~! He lived most of his life and all of his last decades in the D.C. area. I don't think there is any great advantage to a person living in the Dallas location for organizing a conference. COPA had expanded under JJ, in fact, to also have other conferences in different cities to concentrate on MLK, RFK, and other assassinations. JJ worked at this full time and did other things full time - something almost no one else could even contemplate, let alone do! It would definitely take a group again, but it would take time, personal and deep political chemistry, and a source of funds - as well as volunteers to help at conference times. Bill Kelly is the one I'd think first to consult with as to the how and who and such. There are others too. My 2 cents.

I'm pleased to see this in the Washing Post.
I, of course, have very high regard for JJ's excellent research in many areas but perhaps more than anything I wonder how many lives he saved over the years, both American and victims of US foreign policy. His going to high schools to counter the recruitment spin and honestly inform students of what signing up really means must surely have saved many lives. We will never really know how many. So much more to do and gone too soon.

I believe they would have ignored it had he not worked for two congresspersons, one as salaried staff [McKinney]. The official obit and remembrance will be issued/conducted by his partner and his friends in May, likely early May.
I hate to bring this up, but I find most odd that the coroner has NOT ruled as to the cause of death....despite an autopsy. I have urged Marilyn to seek an independent review of the autopsy, no matter what it says. JJ was ever a thorn in the side of the Deep Political State in the USA. He, himself, was suspicious as to the real cause of death of his good friend Mae Brussell. An intelligence occupied house just across the road from Mae's burned down completely immediately following her death....I'm sure not a coincidence.
Yes, as long as I knew him, and even before according to his longtime friend Bill Kelly, John had done anti-military recruitment work - starting against the then draft during the Vietnam War. He saved many lives and was trying to save the [now threatened] 'life' of American polity and society. While a continuation of COPA is important, John's greatest dream was a D.C. based Hidden History Museum - something I would like to see come to be!

That is not the one I meant Albert. But that is the MSM "official" one. I think it was on the fb COPA and JJ pages and on this computer I can't open either. WHEN will they fix my brand new computer been in the shop almost two weeks. All I have on this one is email. DPF and Facebook.

No cause of death??? Now that is alarming. When I first met John in 1997 at my first COPA conference we discussed Mae. I asked him what she was researching before she died. He told me it had been Satanism in the military. He did not come right out and say he believed she was murdered but strongly hinted at it. I know people have strokes naturally but John was in such great health this past November. Can't help but wonder.

Yes, it is correct that the last thing Mae was researching and reporting on before her death was Satanism and Pedophilia in the Military. She had had some threatening calls. To my knowledge [but I could be wrong] John had not been studying or talking about anything other than the usual. The only new thing on his agenda was the Hidden History Museum, to my knowledge. When I heard of his death, I immediately contacted his partner to ask she call Dr. Wecht to suggest a forensic pathologist to either perform or review the autopsy. I don't know what happened with that suggestion....but I'd not trust the average coroner who knows nothing about induced heart attacks and strokes et al. It all could have been natural, but I'm sure if his next of kin file a FOIA for his files, they will be voluminous! Let us say he was closely watched - which translates into he was on the right track and effective at speaking about what he knew - both! Some just talked or just researched. John was also a man of action, who got things done - as well as being the closest thing the Deep Political Researchers had to a focal point and leader in our fractured community, IMHO. That combination, along with his work with two Congresspersons on very controversial topics could well have drawn enemies - as the entire 50th COPA conference could have. I'm not saying anything untoward happened, but I'm sure if it were someone else, John would have wanted it explored - so I think we should, as well. That much we owe him and his memory and legacy.
