He confided that the ruse was perpetrated easily by replacing Hitler's dental records with that of the person they left dead in his place, causing an exact match later for identity. The same was done for Eva. This article shows the discrepancies between other reports of their dental history and what was found there. Remember that the main work asserting the death of Hitler in the bunker was by Hugh Trevor-Roper, who later wrote the introduction to Mark Lane's Rush to Judgment about the Kennedy assassination.
