Peter Lemkin Wrote:Of all the many strange aspects to this 'case', IMO the weirdest [perhaps] is letting the media rummage through their home with evidence lying around and media persons even helping themselves to items as souvenirs and disturbing an active crime scene. Hard to believe, really. Can't be a mistake, even if there is the claim that the landlord let them in...why were the police letting anyone in?!...even the landlord - and only about 48 hours after the shootout. This one was scripted by the same team that scripted the Batman shooting.

Arthur Bremer's apartment was left unsecured, the media allowed to rummage around, and possibly a fake diary written by Howard Hunt planted there.

In the 'old days' they were called 'Lone Nuts' not 'Terrorists' and would usually shoot at one person with a handgun, not at everyone in sight with military-grade machine guns. Other than that, little has changed.

The L.A. Times said that at one point in the shooting, a bullet struck a sprinkler in the conference room and set the whole system off, flooding the place. I guess that could be used to explain why they left after just a few minutes of shooting.

Maybe but also seems odd that a couple (or three?) who were set on causing as much damage as possible would be put off by a little bit of water and some sprinklers. Hardly an obstacle. Might cramp your style if you had just had your hair done for a dinner date later though.

I was astounded when I saw the media traipsing through the apartment. Surely it must be kept pristine until all evidence has been gathered and that takes weeks. How long was it since the house was identified as their home and the media allowed through? Seemed to be just a few hours at most. Can police have gone through so quickly and leave it to the media. Wouldn't their next of kin have some thing to say about all that unsecured personal property being gone through by strangers? Just don't get it. Very unprofessional of the 'authorities' Nothing subsequently discovered from the house can be accepted in these circumstances.

What are the odds? The active shooting drill took place earlier that morning in the same room as the "real thing". I heard it on the radio as I was waking up this am then googled and found a story that I shared on my fb page.

Just curious, is there any indication that the drill caused confusion or interfered with the response of the police to the shooting (as it is said in 9/11)?

In the case of the apartment of the 'Batman Movie Shooter' in Denver, his apartment was kept secure for about two weeks if I remember...but it is always a long time and everything of possible interest is taken. Even when they leave it is sealed for weeks or months and NO one but the authorities enter.
