Arizona anti- Immigration rally meets Native American dad on way home from shops - Magda Hassan - 09-05-2014 New video shows a Native American man tearing into anti-illegal immigration protesters at an undated Arizona rally, scolding them for being the "real illegals" due to the history of Europeans stealing native lands after arriving upon the American continent. "You're all fucking illegal! You're all illegal," the man, pushing a baby stroller, is seen screaming at the protesters. "We didn't invite none of you here. We're the only native Americans here!" he continued. The unidentified man continued to berate the protesters, who seemed uninterested in engaging him as they began to walk away. "Get on with your bogus arguments," he yelled. "We're the only legal ones here!" He then pointed to one of the anti-immigration signs (not clearly seen on-camera): "Yeah, we should have put that sign up when you son-of-a-bitches came! That represents blood spilled by Native Americans protecting this land from invaders!" "Yeah, that's right. You don't want to hear the goddamn truth!" he continued as the crowd moved away from him. "Get on, bitch! That's what that flag stands for. All the Native Americans you killed to plant your houses here. That's the truth. That's the truth." Arizona anti- Immigration rally meets Native American dad on way home from shops - Drew Phipps - 09-05-2014 It's very difficult to ignore the multiple layers of irony here: An American Indian (whose distant ancestors emigrated here from Siberia (pushing a Western-style stroller) complaining about immigration to a bunch of white folks, whose not so distant ancestors emigrated here from Europe (and then killed most of the Indians, and forced the rest to live on giant reservations in Arizona), who are themselves complaining about immigration from a group of people whose ancestors were a grab bag of Europeans and Native Americans. |
