1. The Death of A President by William Manchester
A description of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
2. Rush to Judgment by Mark Lane
An early defense of Lee Harvey Oswald written by a lawyer.
3. Plausible Denial by Mark Lane
An account of courtroom actions pointing toward the
involvement of the Central Intelligence Agency in the assassination
of President Kennedy.
4. Whitewash by Harold Weisberg
A strong and early criticism of the Warren Commission's work by a
seasoned government investigator.
5. Battling Wall Street by Donald Gibson
A description of the Kennedy presidency, providing insights into
who his enemies were.
6. The Kennedy Assassination Cover-Up Revisited by Donald Gibson
An examination of how the Warren Commission came to be
formed against the original intentions of the new president,
Lyndon Johnson. The author prefers the name McCloy-Dulles
Commission, for the two Wall Street lawyers who controlled
the work of the Commission and its conclusions.
7. JFK and the Unspeakable by James Douglass
One of the best books about John Kennedy and his death.
8. JFK vs. CIA by Michael Calder
Contains much about the struggle Kennedy had with the CIA, and
also some provocative information of what was happening at
Parkland Hospital in Dallas before the President arrived there.
9. Oswald and the CIA by John Newman
This book by a military historian documents Oswald's role as a
CIA asset or agent.
10. Harvey and Lee by John Armstrong
This book is the result of a twelve-year intensive investigation of
these two individuals, one called Lee by the author, and the other
called Harvey, who could be substituted for each other and confuse
eye witnesses.
11. The Plot to Seize the White House by Jules Archer
An important account of an attempted coup d'etat, planned and
organized by Wall Street bankers, stockbrokers, and industrialists
to remove President Franklin Roosevelt in 1933-34 and replace him
with a dictator patterned after Benito Mussolini of Italy. A half-
million man army of WWI war veterans of the American Legion were
to march on Washington and demand Roosevelt step down.
12. Powers Behind JFK Assassination by Randolph Jason Polasek
An interesting little book which brings together much information
about the influence of the banking industry on American politics.
Contains the speech by Louis McFadden, Representative in Congress,
who introduced legislation to undo the Federal Reserve System of
private banks which loan money to the US Government and charge
interest that is paid by the taxpayers in their income tax. Several
attempts were made on his life by shootings and poisonings.

I've been wanting to create the definitive book list, for both the JFK cold case and the big picture. Great start.
Totally agree about the ones I've read in your list.
Battling Wall Street is very underrated. So glad to see it on your list. In fact it emphasizes the US Steel stand off, which I think was huge.
JFK and the Unspeakable is the BEST. If you can only read one, that's it.
Mark Lane is essential reading especially early on.
As is Jim Garrison (On the Trail of the Assassins) IMO.
For big picture--The Shock Doctrine is essential.

Thank you for your approval. Since this was a list to accompany ny interview, I tried to keep it short. There are so many good books, and even the less-than-good ones sometimes have a bit of information which could be valuable.

Someone Would Have Talked - Larry Hancock [new stuff on Cubans, Intel folks, off-the-shelfers and how it all fits]
Breach of Trust - McKnight [How WC was a Big Lie]
Conspiracy - Matt Smith [Plot to kill or harm all the Kennedys]
A Certain Arrogance - Evica [Use of religious groups as fronts for intelligence activiites, related to Dallas]
Bloody Treason - Twyman [Hard to get and Expensive when found, but well worth it. A few mis-marks, but mostly great new stuff or re-examination of important things]
Deep Politics and The Death of JFK - P.D. Scott [Must read]
Oswald and the CIA - Newman [Proves the connections]
On The Trail Of The Assassins - Russell [Great history of this researchers writings]
The Last Investigation - Fonzi [Another must read!]
A Farewell To Justice - Mellen [Garrison and his dance with the devil of the cover-up]
Praise From A Future Generation - Kelin [History of the Early Researchers - who mostly got it right and we've been battling the disinfo since!]
The Man Who Knew Too Much - Russell [ESSENTIAL reading - the intelligence man who knew all the details of the assassination two months before and wrote certified letters to CIA, FBI and Congressmen about his knowledge and was ignored, later 'terminated'. Complex story that proves the offical version wrong and the officials don't want the truth known.]
Crossfire - Marrs - Not a heavy, but a great first book to show a newcomer to the field an overview of the contrdictions, impossibilities, doubts, strange deaths, funny-business, and more that make the official version a very tragic comedy.

Anthony Summers book 'The Kennedy Conspiracy' is quite a good general introduction. I don't know if it has been updated since. He has also written a lot of other books which fill in a lot of back ground like his bio on J. Edgar Hoover, and Honeytrap a study in the use of sexual black mail by intelligence agencies. He also wrote a book about Marilyn Monroe which has a lot of info about the Kennedy brothers and the politics and players of the day. Altogether a good basic grounding in the subject matter.

Both should be on the list as must reads. Garrison's is On The Trail Of The Assassins. Russell's [my mistake] is On The Trail Of The JFK Assassins. Both top-notch-must reads.
