Great song R.K. I've never heard of it or the singers. My sheltered life. She sounds like she would have a fantastic voice for Jazz as well as folk or gospel.

This instantly reminded me of Lou Reed's song "A Perfect Day" that the BBC made for a promo decades ago - and which has a shitload of famous stars performing on it. I guess Lou Reed knew the Barbara Dane song and used it in his?

Glad you enjoyed it! She did in fact record at least one jazz album - Livin' with the Blues - which featured the great Earl Hines and Benny Carter. It was an enjoyable record, though maybe not among her very best work. She was more suited to singing folk/blues material in my opinion. Not sure if there's a connection between the two but it wouldn't surprise me at all. Lou really knew his stuff.
