Malcolm Rifkind and Jack Straw -former Foreign Secretaries both - caught street-walking - David Guyatt - 23-02-2015 The following is from The Needle and raises the point that neither of these two former Foreign Secretaries consider the not inconsiderable salary they receive from the taxpayer as Parliamentarians to be of any meaningful consideration - but instead ply their insider trade like a Hansom Cab for £5-8k a day for a "salary" from the highest bidder. Malcolm Rifkind and Jack Straw -former Foreign Secretaries both - caught street-walking - R.K. Locke - 24-02-2015 I wonder who has the power to take Rifkind down? Also, is Jack Straw Jewish? I'm just trying to make some sense of what this is about. Malcolm Rifkind and Jack Straw -former Foreign Secretaries both - caught street-walking - David Guyatt - 25-02-2015 Rifkind has now resigned as the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee. "I'm self employed. Nobody pays me a salary". As a Conservative member of Parliament and (former) Chairman of the Intelligence Committee, Rifkind was fully employed by the British people who paid him via their tax payments the not paltry sum of approx £80k per year. But he saw that as nothing with no binding commitment (I'm self employed - nobody pays me a salary). Jack Straw has voluntarily withdrawn from the Labour Party and, I believe, has previously announced that he intends not to stand for re-election in May 2015.
