The "Dark Matter" operation that sent Oswald to Russia - Alan Denholm - 12-03-2015

I have been reading The Oswald code by Alan Webberman, in which he mentions a man called
Gerald Hemming, since I had never heard much of him I did some reading around about him.
One of the articles I found was in a web site called Fair Play , which seems to have stopped
back in the early 2000's. One of the articles was

http://www.acorn.net/jfkplace/09/fp.back_issues/14th_Issue/hemming.html

In this reported conversation with Hemming he says of Oswald

"Why was he sent to the Soviet Union?" Hemming asked, in an apparent non-sequiter. "Did he ever discover that? No. He was sent there to be the fall guy when they dumped the U-2. So they'd get the financing for the satellites. And the U-2 was coming back with nothing. All those pictures were embarrassing. There was no honor gap. They had contacts --- their big time contact was an MGB General, and a couple of colonels, one of them in Minsk. But as somebody said, How the hell did they get the U-2 profile? Well, let's see. There's this Marine Corps corporal, and we got this Captain in the Navy, and a couple of other suspected people that were hanging around with Japanese communists or something ... and that's where it ends! But he wouldn't have known that."

So was the aim of Oswald to "sell out" the U2 to enable it to be replaced by a satellite network and the SR71 after the military has scared congress into funding it as a replacement. The "Dark Matter" operation was to replace the U2 via the colonel in Minsk, all fits in with what happened and Oswald returns home with as little fuss if as he had been to Mexico for the weekend.

Hemming also gave a great quote
"Which ones --- the damage control boys, like Posner?"
love it I'm sure Posner would be crushed if he knew what "they" really though of him and his ilk.

Why would American Intel send a soldier to Russia who was familiar with top secret U-2 flights?

They wouldn't. They'd send an impostor instead.

Satellites formed a global guidance system for ballistic missiles. This purpose was not fulfilled by the U2 surveillance planes.

Hemming was a soldier of fortune who probably had some guilty knowledge about the JFK assassination. He talked to many researchers over the years, and spun many stories. I don't know how many of them to believe.

I had several conversations with Hemmings over the years. Every conversation left me wondering if anything he said was true. I did use his brother in California for some investigative work on RFK case and he was more believable.

It would make sense. Having gotten away with it, after Nixon's loss to JFK they reassigned Oswald to domestic ops which then developed into the fall guy for the coup.

And he freely admitted half of what he said was a lie...so I just ignored him when he was posting at EF. A wanna be .

Just because a person lies doesn't mean they don't have assassination research value.
