MacArthur Warned Kennedy Against Viet Nam - Albert Doyle - 08-09-2015 " A great book to read from a U.S. Army Soldier's perspective that served in Vietnam, is John M.G. Brown's Rice Paddy Grunt. There are some notable things that stand out in the book. The first is John M.G. Brown's account of his Drill Sergeant calling him aside, towards the end of his Army Basic Training, and confiding to John M.G. Brown that the U.S. troop buildup in South Vietnam was NOT going to work. The second notable thing is that John M.G. Brown, in his book, gives an account of General Douglas MacArthur telling John F. Kennedy regarding South Vietnam -- "do NOT send an army in there". " And MacArthur was the one fired by Truman for being too aggressive. Senator Morse stood against the Tonkin Resolution saying it would end in a waste of American boys' lives for nothing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyFq9yco_Kc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpp_kv4pN4E MacArthur Warned Kennedy Against Viet Nam - Tracy Riddle - 09-09-2015 MacArthur was too aggressive in Korea (especially if you read I.F.
