Let's get down to it by using well-documented and sourced information on Amy Goodman, Juan Gonzalez, and the stage called Democracy Now! I have had my reservations for some time and this just confirmed. Thanks. Dawn Amy Goodman, Democracy Now and the Soros Foundation - Zakariyya Ishaq - 25-09-2015 What do you expect? Amy, a good little progressive who never wants to deal with 911 conspiracies has sold out, big deal… its hard not to when you get so many enticements. Human nature Amy Goodman, Democracy Now and the Soros Foundation - Peter Lemkin - 26-09-2015 I personally have emailed to Goodman and DN! staff to report on 911-related events (and other highly significant 'national security state' issues). Every one of those emails has been met with silence and non-action. This, as pointed out is a HUGE flaw in their coverage. There are obviously certain lines which they do not cross and areas of investigative reporting in which they don't venture. This is rightly condemned as are the sources of some of their funding [the remainder of their funding comes from viewer contributions]. That said, their coverage on other progressive issues is almost without equal and I don't suggest ignoring them totally - only being aware of their limitations and constrictions on some issues. This is true not only for DN!, but for much of the other 'progressive' and alternative media. Take what is good; reject and condemn that which is bad or missing. Work to forge an alternative that will cover the issues they will not. A certain kind of 'purism' will only throw throw out the good with the bad. This is how the 'Left' usually eats its own and allows the 'Right' to grow unchecked. Amy Goodman, Democracy Now and the Soros Foundation - Zakariyya Ishaq - 27-09-2015 Although other programs on the stations that air DN have 911conspiracy lore, Amy and DN, who are and still desire to be mainstream within progressive politics, won't go into 911 stuff because it still is taboo for the mainstream. Amy knows this therefore won't touch it…if she did her mainstream sources of support might dry up. "Oh that's that crazy woman touting 911 conspiracies" might jeopardize her standing and she might never again appear on mainstream outlets. 911 is a killer for careers but JFK is somewhat allowed... Probably because all or most of the JFK murderers are dead or dam near dead but the 911 killers are still alive and well and in operational mode! I know I've tried to push her on that in emails too, without reply or effect. And when you do have a good show like Guns and Butter that will cover such topics well, they don't get the 'circulation', nice production values, high-profile guests or backing that DN! does. It's an uphill battle! Unknown, is what Goodman actually feels or believes on such matters in her heart of hearts. What is clear, however, is she won't touch those topics at all, and I don't believe she ever would dare to. Sadly. To me it seems clear that her major financial sponsors would not sponsor the show should it veer into those 'missing' areas. That is the beauty of not having sponsors other than listener-sponsors, perhaps. To DN!'s credit, they have had a few interviews with people who believe Capitalism is the problem, not the solution and have done great reportage on many important issues. I don't give them a 'free pass' on their glaring omissions, mentioned above. Here is a long list of groups funded by Soros http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/viewSubCategory.asp?id=1237 |
