A new tell-all book allegedly written by an anonymous U.S. congressman is sure to ruffle some feathers heading into the November election. The book, titled "The Confessions of Congressman X," is a "devastating inside look at the dark side of Congress as revealed by one of its own," according to the publisher. The anonymous author, said to be a Democrat, skewers their co-workers in a few excerpts that have been released by saying, "Most of my colleagues are dishonest career politicians who revel in the power and special-interest money that's lavished upon them."

A few other jaw dropping quotes from the upcoming book can be found here:

  • "My main job is to keep my job, to get reelected. It takes precedence over everything."
  • "Fundraising is so time consuming I seldom read any bills I vote on. Like many of my colleagues, I don't know how the legislation will be implemented, or what it'll cost."
  • "We spend money we don't have and blithely mortgage the future with a wink and a nod. Screw the next generation. It's about getting credit now, lookin' good for the upcoming election."

Members of Congress are not the only ones on the chopping block; the author even rails against "incredibly ignorant" American voters, calling the country a "nation of naive, self-absorbed sheep who crave instant gratification." The mysterious tell-all book is set to be released on May 24, 2016.

The book is published by Millcity Publishing from Minneapolis. It's a $10.00 paperback on Amazon:

There should be some way people can run for office and have enough media coverage that all the time fundraising becomes both unnecessary and even illegal. Otherwise our elected officials are just bought and paid for whores.

Additionally, a shortened election cycle, say 3 to 6 months, all political commercials are limited to a public information channel available everywhere but nothing on regular TV or cable. Back to the law (forgot what it was called from not too many years back) that forbade congress members from becoming lobbyists for a certain amount of years, that should also apply to congressional aides, etc..

Some kind of limitations on lobbyists, the amount of time they can spend (if any) with congress members and more. Oh yeah, and the total dissolution of the mainstream media. LOL

Congress of whores gets it about right...there being a very few who are not. Even more amazing to me it that the People keep electing [and worse, re-electing!] these trollops, and don't push for honest representatives. It is a very sad system of non-representation of the People and 'representation' of the highest payers to their pockets. And we look down our noses at countries in Africa and Asia, et al. with corrupt tinpot despots running the country for themselves, when we have the same going on in D.C.....

Yep, I'd be for that. 'Lobbyists' could only post their ideas up on a public website for free where their issues could be debated by the public and other interest groups. No private contact. I reckon 10 years is a reasonable amount of time between senate or congress and aids etc and employment in industry. All election and lobbying commercials on public tv publicly paid. No paid commercials allowed. Nothing on commercial tv.

What about restrictions on writing "tell all books"?

Tell all books are good Drew. Should be more of them. But probably better to fix the system that creates them in the first place.
