New Oswald highlights in Newman's COUNTDOWN TO DARKNESS - Anthony Thorne - 22-01-2017

John Newman asked me this morning to post this on the forum. So I'm posting it.

Quote:
NEW OSWALD HIGHLIGHTS IN VOLUME II

According to a legendary senior CIA counterintelligence officer, who was once on track to become the director of the Agency, Lee Harvey Oswald was a witting false defector sent to the USSR in 1959 as part of a mole hunt. This revelation is discussed, for the first time, in Chapter One of Countdown to Darkness.

In Chapter Eighteen (which covers the late opening of Oswald's CIA 201 file in December 1960), incontrovertible new evidence is presented showing that the Agency's mole-hunting unit (specifically, Birch O'Neal and Ann Egerter) used the false name Lee Henry Oswald as a marked card strategy in the mole hunt.

John concurred on Facebook that the above supports Bill Simpich's work in STATE SECRET, along with some of the work of Peter Dale Scott. John also noted -

Quote:I am going to do a short interview with Alan Dale about Countdown to Darkness and the second edition to JFK and Vietnam to prep for scheduled discussions with JFK groups and/or other open Q&A sessions. These will be scheduled for 2-3 days each time, so that the discussion can be asynchronous instead of live. The interview should help frame the context for these discussions. I thank you for your interest and hope that your own research might be helped by these discussions.

If others have commentary or feedback or questions, please post them and I'll add them to John's next Facebook conversation. I'll also let the forum know if he does any Q&A sessions. In response to one question about Mexico City John did note that his coverage of that event was 'a few volumes away' so he's clearly into this subject deep and for the long haul.
