Once again Edward Epstein - Richard Coleman - 24-03-2017

This is peripheral, but it does does footnote the JFK assassination. Kind of. "An early critic of the Warren Commission, [Epstein] published Inquest: The Warren Commission and the Establishment of Truth in 1966. In the book Epstein accepts that Lee Harvey Oswald was guilty of killing President John F. Kennedy. However, he is not convinced by the "single-bullet" theory and believes that there is evidence to suggest that more than one gunman was involved in the assassination. In his book Legend: The Secret World of Lee Harvey Oswald (1978) Epstein argued that Oswald was a KGB agent. Much of the book is based on interviews with James Angleton and Yuri Nosenko." Now, he's at it again, re Edward Snowden. From The Nation: "In How America Lost Its Secrets, Edward Jay Epstein, a partisan of the second camp, digs in even deeper. Snowden, he believes, is not just a traitor; he is also a spy. But for whom? Epstein argues that it could be China. Or possibly Russia. Or China and Russia… take your pick. This is a book long on conjecture, innuendo, and unsubstantiated claims; it reads like an adrenalized addendum to the discredited House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence report on Snowden, which, when it came out last fall, was dismissed by former Washington Post reporter Barton Gellman as "aggressively dishonest." "

There's a nice discussion by Glenn Greenwald on the Snowden/Russia meme, including Epstein on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aD7VfJzLGU

Once again Edward Epstein - Jim DiEugenio - 26-03-2017

Talk about not changing their spots, Epstein is a perfect example of a guy who sold his soul long ago and never looked back.
