Sergei Skripal is now reported by the British media to be recovering well --- following his daughters phone call. Of course, following her phone call what else could they say.
I'm well past the Novichok explanation now. For me personally, it's pure theatre and balls. Something else poison the Skripals and the policeman (presumably) and it wasn't a military grade nerve agent.
Wow! That is some new decapacitation agent someone has - keeps someone unable to do anything for about a month - with apparent full recovery.....sounds like a military man's dream - dose all the 'enemy' soldiers' or 'agents' and walk/sneak into the country unopposed...or pull a false-flag op. Perhaps the UK is planning on taking back their old empire with chemicals - chocolate flavored no less. If this were not so serious, it really would make great Monty Python sketch in the dead parrot genre. "They've been poisoned to death!". 'No they haven't! They'll be fine in a month, just you wait...!" "I want my money back now!" "No you'll have to wait a month and you'll see...they'll come around and be fine!".
On the other hand, perhaps they were simply drugged in hospital? I appreciate it sounds bizarre, but more bizarre still is 3 people attacked with a military grade Novichok and all 3 of them recovering without harm.
I doubt regular staff at the hospital would have given them some other drugs or kept them unconscious, but there are intelligence agency doctors and intelligence agency staff and suites in some few hospitals....with this strange story almost anything is possible! I'd love to see some independent medical examination of the three effected persons, as there should still be both traces of the drugs given - no matter what they were and also latent nerve system effects IF it was any kind of nerve agent [which I now doubt greatly - unless it is some new kind entirely]....all the old ones were designed to kill and kill fast and did several types of damage, of which only some were reversible under the most optimal conditions [atropine administration almost immediately or medical intervention immediately knowing what the agent was and the appropriate antidotes and procedures - but even so, there would be latent damage upon survival.]

So the Skripals are getting better and better - and it is hinted they will likely show no signs of their 'poisoning'. Take this article with a grain of salt, as it is the Guardian - the better of the press which lean toward official versions. Make no mistake about it - many countries have eliminated spies, double-agents and even innocents who knew to much [or for no reason at all] by all kinds of means - including chemical and radioactive agents, assassination by all means and exotic methods. The USA has, the UK has, Russia has, N. Korea has, China has, Israel has, many others have - the question here is did Russia in this case; and is there any evidence they did? Also at play is whether Russia has a worse track record than the other nations I mentioned - or are there political reasons to paint them as such 'bad/worst actors'. The fact the Skripals are recovering at all - let alone 'well' to the point of complete recovery after being in coma and near death [or so we are told] for many weeks is nothing less than a miracle or a lie in some manner. In what manner is still unclear. I think we can eliminate the 'miracle' option. The policeman effected and released has certainly kept a very low invisibility and to my knowledge has given no interviews and is not planning on writing his story...he had slipped back into the shadows from whence he apparently came. Even worse, the MSM don't question this story much - which on the face of it is absurd and impossible as presented.

Lavrov drops a bombshell. The Russians have been sent a confidential report by someone at Spiez Labs, the Swiss firm chosen by the OPCW to analyse the samples taken from the Skripal's. Lavrov says these identify the nerve agent BZ Toxin. This makes far more sense than the military grade Novichok fairy-tale.
I note that Spiez Labs have not denied Lavrov's statement but merely have said it is up to the OPCW to comment.

Sergei Skripal, a former Russian double agent, and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with an incapacitating toxin known as 3-Quinuclidinyl benzilate or BZ, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, citing the results of the examination conducted by a Swiss chemical lab that worked with the samples that London handed over to the Organisation for the Prohibition of the Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
The Swiss center sent the results to the OPCW. However, the UN chemical watchdog limited itself only to confirming the formula of the substance used to poison the Skripals in its final report without mentioning anything about the other facts presented in the Swiss document, the Russian foreign minister added. He went on to say that Moscow would ask the OPCW about its decision to not include any other information provided by the Swiss in its report.
Lavrov said that the Swiss center that assessed the samples is actually the Spiez Laboratory. This facility is a Swiss state research center controlled by the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Protection and, ultimately, by the country's defense minister. The lab is also an internationally recognized center of excellence in the field of the nuclear, biological, and chemical protection and is one of the five centers permanently authorized by the OPCW.
The Russian foreign minister said that London refused to answer dozens of "very specific" questions asked by Moscow about the Salisbury case, as well as to provide any substantial evidence that could shed light on the incident. Instead, the UK accused Russia of failing to answer its own questions, he said, adding that, in fact, London did not ask any questions but wanted Moscow to admit that it was responsible for the delivery of the chemical agent to the UK.
The Spiez Laboratory reflected on Lavrov's words, tweeting late Saturday that only the OPCW "can comment [on] this assertion."
The scandal erupted in early March, when former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found in critical condition in the town of Salisbury. Top UK officials almost immediately pinned the blame on Russia.
Moscow believes that the entire Skripal case lacks transparency and that the UK is in fact not interested in an independent inquiry. "We get the impression that the British government is deliberately pursuing the policy of destroying all possible evidence, classifying all remaining materials and making a transparent investigation impossible," the Russian ambassador to the UK, Alexander Yakovenko, said during a press conference on Friday.

While two Russians might like the climes of Guantanamo, or some equally horrible equivalent black site, I think they'd find it quite the come-down from the life they are now leading. One has to wonder what life they will be 'allowed' to live now in the UK...... But it WAS SO very nice of the CIA to offer anyway, wasn't it?~!::fury::

Were the Skripals 'Buzzed', 'Novi-shocked' Or Neither? - May Has Some 'Splaining' To Do
The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, threw a bombshell at the British assertions that the collapse of the British secret agent Sergej Skripal and his daughter Yulia on March 4 in Salisbury was caused by a 'Novichok' nerve agent 'of a type developed by Russia'. (See our older pieces, linked below, for a detailed documentation of the case.)- The Skripal poisoning happened on March 4.
- Eye witnesses described the Skripals as disoriented and probably hallucinating. The emergency personal suspected Fentanyl influence.
- A few days later the British government claimed that the Skripals had been affected by a chemical agent from the 'Novichok' series which they attributed to Russia. It insinuated that the Skripals might die soon.
- A doctor of the emergency center at the Salisbury District Hospital publicly asserted that none of its patients was victim of a 'nerve agent'.
- On March 14, after much pressure from Russia, Britain finally invited the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to analyze the blood of the victims and to take environmental samples.
- The OPCW arrived on March 19 and took specimen on the following days. It also received a share of the samples taken earlier by the British chemical weapon laboratory in Porton Down, which is only some 10 miles away from Salisbury.
- The OPCW split the various samples it had in a certified laboratory in the Netherlands and then distributed them to several other certified laboratories for analysis.
- One of those laboratories was the highly regarded Spiez Laboratory in Switzerland which is part of the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Protection and fully certified.
- On April 12 the OPCW published a public version of the result of the analyses it had received from its laboratories.
- A more extensive confidential version was given to the state members that make up the OPCW.
[A] detailed and fairly substantial confidential version was distributed to the OPCW members only. In that report, in accordance with the OPCW way of conduct, the chemical composition of the agent presented by the British was confirmed, and the analysis of samples, as the report states, was taken by the OPCW experts themselves. It contains no names, Novichok or any other. The report only gives the chemical formula, which, according to our experts, points to an agent that had been developed in many countries and does not present any particular secret.
After receiving that report Russia was tipped off by the Spiez Laboratory or someone else that the OPCW report did not include the full results of its analysis.According to Lavrov this is what the Spiez Laboratory originally sent to the OPCW:
"Following our analysis, the samples indicate traces of the toxic chemical BZ and its precursor which are second category chemical weapons. BZ is a nerve toxic agent, which temporarily disables a person. The psycho toxic effect is achieved within 30 to 60 minutes after its use and lasts for up to four days. This composition was in operational service in the armies of the US, the UK and other NATO countries. The Soviet Union and Russia neither designed nor stored such chemical agents. Also, the samples indicate the presence of type A-234 nerve agent in its virgin state and also products of its degradation."
The "presence of type A-234 nerve agent", an agent of the so called 'Novichok' series, in its "virgin state", or as the OPCW stated in "high purity", points to later addition to the sample. The 'Novichok' agents are not stable. They tend to fall rapidly apart. Their presence in "virgin state" in a sample which was taken 15 days after the Skripal incident happened is inexplicable. A scientist of the former Russian chemical weapon program who worked with similar agents, Leonid Rink, says that if the Skripals had really been exposed to such high purity A-234 nerve agent, they would be dead.The whole case, the symptoms shown by the Skripals and their recuperation, makes way more sense if they were 'buzzed', i.e. poisoned with the BZ hallucinogenic agent, than if they were 'novi-shocked' with a highly toxic nerve agent.
The Spiez Laboratory responded by not denying Lavrov's claims:

Science Direct has several excerpts of reports about BZ. The basics:Agent 15 is also called compound 3-quinuclidinyl benzilate, BZ, or "Buzz." It is a powerful chemical warfare agent. As one of the most potent psychoactive chemical agents, only a small amount of BZ is needed to produce complete incapacitation. When used as an aerosol, BZ is absorbed through the respiratory system (it has no odor). It can also be absorbed through the skin or the digestive system. It takes approximately 1 h for BZ to take effect, and the symptoms of exposure include confusion, tremors, stupor, hallucinations, and coma that can last for more than 2 days.
BZ is a psycho agent 25 times stronger than LSD. It was developed by the U.S. military as an incapacitating agent. At least 50 tons were produced and filled into weapon delivery systems. It was allegedly tested on U.S. soldiers in Vietnam:Working with the CIA the Department of Defense gave hallucinogenic drugs to thousands of "volunteer" soldiers in the 1950's and 1960's. In addition to LSD, the Army also tested quinuclidinyl benzilate, a hallucinogen code-named BZ. Many of these tests were conducted under the so-called MKULTRA program, established to counter perceived Soviet and Chinese advances in brainwashing techniques. Between 1953 and 1964, the program consisted of 149 projects involving drug testing and other studies on unwitting human subjects. Although many human subjects were not informed or protected, Dr. Gottlieb defended those actions by stating "...harsh as it may seem in retrospect, it was felt that in an issue where national survival might be concerned, such a procedure and such a risk was a reasonable one to take."

BZ (and LSD) turned out to be impractical as battlefield weapons.According to British parliament records BZ was also produced and tested, allegedly on unknowing civilians, by the British chemical weapon laboratory Porton Down.
The Russian Foreign Minister asserts that the OPCW suppressed the details of the Spiez Laboratory report:
Nothing is said whatsoever about a BZ agent in the final report that the OPCW experts presented to its Executive Council. In this connection we address the OPCW a question about why the information, that I have just read out loud and which reflects the findings of the specialists from the city of Spiez, was withheld altogether in the final document. If the OPCW would reject and deny the very fact that the Spiez laboratory was engaged, it will be very interesting to listen to their explanations.
The current Director-General of the OPCW is the Turkish carrier diplomat Ahmed Üzümcü who earlier served as the Turkish Permanent Representative to NATO.I have no theory how the BZ or the A-234 made it into the OPCW samples or if the Skripals were really influenced by either of these poisons or are victims of simple shellfish poisoning. Your guess is a good as mine.
But the story the British government has so far told is full of holes and discrepancies and makes absolutely no sense at all. The suppression of the Spiez Laboratory report by the OPCW is a serious breach of its procedures.
The British Prime Minister Theresa May, and the OPCW, have some 'splainin' to do.
The Skripal Poisoning - A Very Deep British Affair - David Guyatt - 30-04-2018
Have been rather busy of late.
Anyone wishing to stay abreast of the Skripal affair should simply daily look at Craig Murray's blog. Murray is disgracing the British media and revealing them to be incompetent at best, and compliant to the government lies of this affair at worst. The media are not conducting any sort of investigation on what the Skripal poisoning was really all about. Murray has been leading the world in doing that.
The story coming out, following the intervention on Murray's blog by a former very famour Ministry of Defence Mandarin, Clive Ponting - who in the 1980's was prosecuted under the Official Secrets Act by the Thatcher government for giving classified documents to MP, Tam Dalyell, that revealed Thatcher's disgraceful decision to sink the Argentinian Battleship (previously part of the British naval fleet and then sold), Admiral Belgrano, with all but hands lost but a few. Ponting deployed a public interest defence in the trial and was acquitted.
The general story that is emerging is that Sergie Skripal's handler (and recruiter), former MI6 man Pablo Miller, left the service and joined Christopher Steele's Orbis Intelligence, where he employed Skripal to help dig up some dirt for the now discredited Trump dirty (golden shower) dossier. Skripal, who has an interest in making money, threatened to sell his insider knowledge about the lies in this dossier. He was consequently poisoned with BZ that was packaged as Novichok (hence all three victims quickly and fully recovered) and the story flipped to attack Russia and Putin.
The plotters knew that the US, UK and France were planning to conduct a major strike aimed at decapitating the Syrian military, as a last desperate measure to save their geopolitical position there. Putin called their bluff and threatened to retaliate against any platforms (warships, submarines or bases) used by the three attacking nations should one Russian be killed in the planned strike. Trump backed down using General Mattis to select lesser "token" targets that Mattis told the Russian about in advance (see the Elijah Magnier story HERE for the background on the planned attack on Syria). Thus flipping the Skripal story was intended to generate public support for the UK joining in the US and France on a major illegal on a foreign sovereign nation without approval of Parliament ( almost an exact re-run of Tony Blair's Dirty Dossier over the 2003 Iraq war).
The whole affair is rapidly unravelling and revealing the dirty players in the media, former MI6 types, and of course Theresa May and others in the minority Conservative government that still adhere to the old, fraying "special" poodle relationship.
Oh, and as Clive Ponting points out, the British government did issue a D Notice to bar the British media from reporting on Pablo Miller. Ponting also concludes, as I had already concluded, that the injured policeman was very likely a Special Branch officer who was Skripal's handler. The policeman very likely accidentally poisoned himself with a dose of BZ when he was spraying/poisoning both the Skripal's... This would explain why it was that Special Branch immediately took charge over the police investigation of the Skripal, affair.
