Dear Seamus Coogan,

If you insist upon shouting "Fuck!" in a crowded church, you had best do so in good conscience and in support of a just crusade.

So far on this forum you've performed like a cheerleader with potty mouth.

No fucking wit, no fucking insight.

Just bullshit.

Write something meaningful soon, or fuck off.

Maybe you hadn't noticed but 'That guy' has contributed over 350 posts to this forum. Many have been of original archive material not available ANYWHERE else short of searching and paying for ancient microfilche records of old UK newspaper reports. For the most part, the rest have been serious, original, closely argued, non-personal contributions to civilised debate.

So far as I can make out, Paul's 'agenda' - if that is the right word - is as worthy as anyone's here and his little spat with Dawn - which you jumped in on weeks after the event - was the culmination of strongly held opposing views after much debate.

OK, you've said sorry, but frankly when I read that original post I was pretty pissed off about it too.

Since I seem to have "started" this mess with my post to Paul I want to take this opportunity to apologise to him again. For the name calling. It is totally unlike me. I took offense at him putting down Bob Groden who has sacrificed so much for this case. I have known Bob dating back to the mid 70's and he is NO Gary Mack. Mack sold out.

I don't know where Seamus has emerged from but telling CD to "get fucked" is off limits. And the posts themselves are far from educational in value. They are more like crass attempts at turning DPF into a slime party.
Please cease and desist.
Dawn

Does anyone know this entity and is this his real name? In one day of ten posts you have managed to alienate many [myself included], and suggest you try to get more in contact with the tone/tenor of this Forum, or go back to wherever you came from....thanks. Newbe here, maybe...I sense a very old troll.

I do hope you guys all check out Jim D's debate with John McAdams however I stress it has not been finalised on the 24th of this month and check out Part 6 to his take on Bugliosi which has been put up as well.

Im pretty easy to find if people want to say hello or whatever.

Seamus...this forum was founded to get away from name calling
and petty postings. Post only research and discussions of research.
Calling other researchers here &$%&#@% names is off limit.

That's very gracious of you, Dawn, but really, there's no need for any apology. You had a strong view and expressed it forthrightly; and that's that. No offence was taken. Having watched half a dozen derbies from the Kop wearing a blue and white scarf, I rather suspect I've heard it all by way of insults.

On the more general point of such vigorous exchanges, I can only observe that it would be a damn dull website which didn't enjoy occasional flashes of passionate disagreement. After all, we come at the gloriously diverse topics abroad here from very different angles, and with sometimes profoundly irreconcilable conceptions of what is, and isn't, true and/or pertinent. So be it. The real tests remain - what are our grounds for holding the views we do? Do they constitute a coherence; and can they withstand scrutiny?
