Not really a technical issue.... - Peter Lemkin - 04-10-2008

..but didn't know where else to put it. Congratulations to those who labored to start this Forum. May I suggest we send suggestions to someone in an administrative position of those who we feel might be of value to have invited to join. I think in most cases it would be best not to list them openly on a post. I know we could individually send out notices to persons we know [and some will], but sending a list of names and brief info about [those not likely to be known by the adminstrator] might be an effective way of getting many new and knowledgeable/dynamic people here in a short time. Adminstrators are, of course, free to choose from those suggested as invitees and ignore those they don't care to invite.

On another matter, may I suggest someone find a way so that google and other search engines find this site. At the moment google does not, really nor well. A good metatext header on the website would help. As the Forum expands google will pick up the threads but several keywords in a metatext header should let the major search engines find it under those headings now.

Pete, I feel sure that the admin would appreciate hearing about any prospective members you or anyone else would care to nominate.

Peter,

By all means make your suggestions either via PM or to any of the co-founders privately.

Should you take the latter route, rest assured that your suggestions will be shared immediately with that group.

Be well,

Charlie

Peter
Glad to see you back. Hope you had a restful vacation. I barely look at EF these days but when I do glance at it I notice that there are many more online here than there.

The Colby faction just drove people away. For me the last straw, of many, was the insult by Andy Walker. He took a notice all of a sudden and began monitering and responding to posts. This on top of Evan Burton ....who made bad calls on a regular basis.

There will be debate and dissent here, but no APs.

And Charlie's Rules of Engagement will not permit the type of sniping and badmouthing that went on at EF. Which also drove people away.

This has been done now but may take some time for the bots to get through the web and find us. But they now know we are here at least.
