Vatican Inc. - Magda Hassan - 22-12-2009 VATICAN TO GO AFTER PIRATE PAPAL DOWNLOADERS Catholic News Agency - The Vatican made a declaration on the protection of the figure of the Pope. The statement seeks to establish and safeguard the name, image and any symbols of the Pope as being expressly for official use of the Holy See unless otherwise authorized. The statement cited a "great increase of affection and esteem for the person of the Holy Father" in recent years as contributing to a desire to use the Pontiff's name for all manner of educational and cultural institutions, civic groups and foundations. Due to this demand, the Vatican has felt it necessary to declare that "it alone has the right to ensure the respect due to the Successors of Peter, and therefore, to protect the figure and personal identity of the Pope from the unauthorized use of his name and/or the papal coat of arms for ends and activities which have little or nothing to do with the Catholic Church." The declaration alludes to attempts to use ecclesiastical or pontifical symbols and logos to "attribute credibility and authority to initiatives" as another reason to establish their 'copyright' on the Holy Father's name, picture and coat of arms. "Consequently, the use of anything referring directly to the person or office of the Supreme Pontiff... and/or the use of the title 'Pontifical,' must receive previous and express authorization from the Holy See," concluded the message released to the press. Vatican Inc. - Jan Klimkowski - 22-12-2009 Brand Pope here we come. GlobalInfallibilitydotcom has today been granted global merchandising rights for the Pope and the Vatican, and will seek to maximize revenues to ensure that the Catholic Church can cover predicted massive legal costs incurred after decades of protecting paedophile priests, supporting ethnic cleansing fascist war criminals and keeping the poor in poverty. "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Vatican Inc. - John Bevilaqua - 22-12-2009 Jan Klimkowski Wrote:Brand Pope here we come. "Dominic, go frisk'em!" said the Pontiff, and so he did. And the coffers were filled, with coins and scrip, none of which would ever go to St. Nick. I will be one of the first to buy one of those really neat Knights of Malta outfits with the plumed hats with the feathers, the sharpened sabers in a scabbard with the Pontiff's seal on the handle and the sashes filled with all sorts of medals, and the epaulets on the shoulders. "Jimmy! Come over hear for a minute!", said the new parish priest to the altar boy while hearing confessions for the first time: "What does Father O'Rourke usually give out for sodomy?" "Why 2 Hostess Twinkies and a cold glass of milk!", he replied in a snap. Vatican Inc. - Bruce Clemens - 28-01-2010 ...reminded me of Disney Land. Vatican Inc. - Magda Hassan - 26-02-2010 I find this interesting on two counts . Firstly, that the church is claiming damage for something that was never damaged or even touched in real life. Secondly, that the motion picture industry, which likes to viciously protect its 'property' from unauthorised use by others totally ignored the churches position in this case because they wanted that image come hell or high water so fuck other people's property rights. I wonder how they would accept that position if done to them? All copyrights went to the diocese in Rio and there are about 22 more years that they have claim until it goes to public domain. It is ridiculous. I suppose now that they no longer engage in simony - although sodomy still is rampant - every which way they can, they will try to raise a Pope's penny: ![]() |
