One of my favorite movie scenes - Erik Bellar - 18-02-2010 of all time. It states as close to perfection my feelings, thoughts, and ideals... at least far better than I could express them myself. So this video, is sort of an introduction of myself to this forum, and a fairly accurate summary of my values. I want to thank the owners of this forum for allowing me to join you in what I consider the most important conversations ever to occur in history of the world... the genesis of a global village of concerned citizens... us. Over time, I hope to get to know you all... and to share your feelings, thoughts, and ideals around this global camp fire. The Great Dictator Speech - Charlie Chaplin One of my favorite movie scenes - Carsten Wiethoff - 18-02-2010 Hi Erik, welcome to the forum! The Great Dictator is a film I have to view again, with an open eye and an open heart. One of my favourite scenes is that red/blue pill scene from The Matrix, symbolizing the choice we can but also have to make in our lives. There are others, of course, maybe we can have a collection of important scenes with statements of people, what they mean to them personally. One of my favorite movie scenes - Bruce Clemens - 18-02-2010 Hi, Erik, I've actually never seen that before...Excellent! Welcome. One of my favorite movie scenes - Ed Jewett - 19-02-2010 Welcome, Erik. Let's keep that conversation going, and take it to the next level. One of my favorite movie scenes - Erik Bellar - 20-02-2010 There is a recurring dream like quality to the red pill... the blue pill analogy... that we are slaves to something larger than ourselves... or are we? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ebyEoj0knc One of my favorite movie scenes - Erik Bellar - 20-02-2010 Ah, the conversation is a work in progress, my dear friend... as is a life's work... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14qTXRkAKr8 One of my favorite movie scenes - Erik Bellar - 20-02-2010 My previous replies have been to specific comments and posts from members above... and my lack of familiarity in how those replies are connected has led to a bit of disjointedness. My apologies... as I learn the ropes here. The conversation thus far here in this thread led to a discovery of the following video on capitalism... from an interesting point of view... that I found worthy of sharing... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3072291302771620276# One of my favorite movie scenes - Erik Bellar - 20-02-2010 Myra Bronstein Wrote:Indeed, we are the universe aware of it self... conscious of it's own existence... awareness of self... stardust consisting entirely of energy... toward the sublime miracle of life - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYuXUqAIZgIErik Bellar Wrote:of all time. One of my favorite movie scenes - David Guyatt - 20-02-2010 I've always been fascinated with the Alice connections to the Matrix (which was a great film trilogy anyway imo - the first one being the best, I think). And Alice is, I think, a cipher for traveling in other realms of reality. Lewis Carroll had a great interest in the occult and this was something that I think drove his writing. This also harkens back to the Carroll riddle "why is a raven like a writing desk?" (see:http://stason.org/TULARC/education-books/find-books/05-What-is-the-answer-to-the-Lewis-Carroll-riddle-Why-is-a.html). I'm not a Carroll aficionado, but the answer seems obvious to me, namely it points to the language of the birds (see: http://www.innerlight.org.uk/journals/Vol24No4/langbird.htm ). The raven or crow is the bird that carries you to the underworld. Alchemically speaking it is the Nigredo - the first agonizing stage, the confrontation with the shadow. Which is why the author who used the pen name Fulcanelli uses this bird in the title page of his book "Le Mystere des Cathedrales", which overflows with argot. Indeed, Fulcanelli openly states that argot is the key to his book. Note the mandatory inclusion of the skull in the above picture. Being an odd sort of fellow, I once collected images from the world most famous painters which also featured the skull. There is an awful lot of them from Michelangelo Carvaggio through to El Greco, Rubens and dozens of others in between. This suggests, to my fevered mind anyway, that each of these painters were secretly involved in occult studies. |
