Palast rocks. A few decades back, when I used to be in this sort of business, I saw this happen often --- the purchase of fire sale assets at cents on the dollar. Back then, the buyer usually had unusual access to movers and shakers in the debtor Sovereign nation that made it worth their while to buy otherwise worthless assets. But the "game" has moved on.
