Who financed which film? - Paul Rigby - 21-03-2010 In today’s Observer Review, there’s a double-page photo of Christine Keeler on the beach at Cannes. Taken on 19 May 1963, the photo is described as “a stunt to publicize a tacky film about her affair with Profumo, made in Denmark and never licensed in the UK” (p.18). My first thought was “who financed this film?” Does anyone know of a site (or sites) that answers this most basic, and routinely over-looked, detail – who financed a given film? Ideally, the site should also cover such related detail as product placement: the Bulova watch company, for example, did this with Seven Days in May. Who financed which film? - Magda Hassan - 21-03-2010 You could try IMDB. It is usually those listed as Executive Producers who are the ones fronting the money but then some times people don't want credit where credit is due. I suppose there is a film financing company in the UK but that is usually just government money but there must be some sort of tax record. Jan may know more. Much more than I do anyway. |
