Stolen Property
With full understanding of the limited resources we have to create a better world, I reluctantly solicit donations in order to replace the property that has been stolen at the hands of Israel. It is hard to believe, but among all the crimes Israel is committing, common thievery is among them. In the attack I lost 2 cameras, 2 lenses, a digital audio recorder and my laptop, along with custom DVD's about Aloha Palestine and some other personal items like family films of my son. Personal losses aside, these are not toys for me, these are my working tools so one way or the other I need to replace them. The moment I receive what is required to replace these items I will remove this payment link, any excess funds will go to Aloha Palestine.
TJP,
Ken O'Keefe

Who is Ken O'Keefe? He walks the walk not just talk the talk. It would be good to help him out.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_O%27Keefe
Kenneth Nichols O'Keefe (born Kenneth Roy Nichols July 21, 1969) is an USA/American born citizen who lawfully renounced his US citizenship on March 1, 2001. He has since acquired Irish, Hawaiian and Palestinian citizenship.[1] He is a former U.S. Marine who served in the 1991 Gulf War who subsequently spoke out about the use of Depleted Uranium as a "crime against humanity" and the US Military using soldiers as "human guinea pigs" with experimental drugs that were directly linked to Gulf War syndrome.[2] [3] He is also a social entrepreneur utilizing direct action marine conservation,[4] but he is more widely known as a human rights activist who led the human shield action to Iraq and as a survivor of the Israeli attack on the MV Mavi Marmara who helped disarm two Israeli Commandos.[5]
On January 7, 2004, O'Keefe burned his U.S. passport in protest of "American Imperialism" and called for US troops to immediately withdrawal from Iraq. He replaced his US passport with a World Passport in accordance with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which protects the right to travel and self-determination. Subsequently he proclaimed himself a "Citizen of the World" with “ultimate allegiance to my entire human family and to planet Earth." [6]

Thanks Maggie, he certainly deserves support. And his website is one to keep an eye on.

Gee that's disappointing. I was hoping the video on his home page would explain how his stuff was stolen. But the video was "removed by user." Does he say elsewhere what happened? He wasn't on the flotilla was he?

Yes, he was on the flotilla. He disarmed 2 Israeli pirate commandos. He was singled out for 'special treatment' at Tel Aviv airport by 'security' when everyone was being deported. His injuries required him to be hospitalized in Israel while most went home. I have some video of him here being interviewed on Hard Talk BBC. I think the other one was the same but removed on copyright grounds by some company and we all know how compliant You Tube are about such things.

That Hardtalk interview was great stuff. (Can be found here as well: http://jewssansfrontieres.blogspot.com/2010/06/marine-resistance.html )

I think the IDF simply confiscated every recording device they could get their hands on, and depending on how annoyed they were with each particular person, they returned it with data erased and/or sans memory card, or didn't return it at all.

Excellent footage. O'Keefe's very tough and articulate and candid. Most impressive. He said he was also on a 2008 humanitarian mission to Gaza.
He also made a point that I hadn't heard before to dispute the Israeli lies that the activists were there to kill Israelis: said they captured three Israeli commandos and returned all three to Israel alive.

Yeah it was. O'keefe has it on his website now, good.

Is that BBC interviewer always so argumentative?

Reminds my foreign eyes more of a cable show than something from the BBC. I guess even if being hard on their guests is the name of the game, she had to be especially hard on O’Keefe – otherwise they’d come under fire for even having him on the show - and it certainly drew a good performance from him.

I notice he was on Hardtalk in 2003. And then, after a google, it turns out he was one of the people behind the Iraq human shield campaign. Makes me feel like a complete wuss. Be good if more marines “turned bad” like he did.

Hard Talk is a very tabloid type of programme.
