Immediately after the Cuban Missile Crisis was over, JFK remarked to his staff, "Now would be a good time for me to go to the theatre."

That's right, I forgot about that one.

I think JFK himself answers this question very well as quoted in JFK and the Unspeakable.

Actually, JFK is quoted in many accounts as making that comment to RFK, not to his staff.
