Well, that's reassuring anyway. The US obviously wouldn't lie on top of espionage and all the other breaches of trust they've engaged in.
This is what really does my head in about Europe. One wholly unelected functionary has the power to make decisions that impact everyone else in Europe. Democracy it ain't.
