Thanks Peter.
Berry Seal is a case in itself as well as Scott Wheeler. I will also cover those in more detail. As you know Seal was gunned down after he was sent to a halfway house by a federal judge. In some circles it was seen as a complete "double cross" by most DEA and government operatives.... that started some talk among the ranks.., "if they would do that to Seal, then I am in a hell of a spot", being most of those boys were from the Mena Ak side of the fence. Some went before Senator Kerry and really got screwed. I being one of 'um', although on another side of a fence.
As to Scott Wheeler? Little has been covered about his death at "Poco Solo" Costa Rico, a remote jungle airfield controlled by the Ochoa brothers. Scott always kept names written in a little black book tucked inside his right boot. It was a very bad thing to do and he had been warned many times about this.
Scott had just landed with a plan load of light weapons and ammunitions, when two riders approached him riding two donkeys. One held back while the other approached Wheeler.
Not much was said except, “ Do you have our names in your little black book, Senor? Before Scott could answer the other rider had circled around behind Scott and with his machete. Iin one hard blow he quickly beheaded Scott. After the guns and ammo had been unloaded, the headless body of Scott was placed in the back of the Aero Commander and another pilot from the Ochoa Cartel flew the aircraft back to Mexico with a load of cocaine, where he delivered the load outside Leijas Mexico and then flew the Aero back to Eagle Pass Texas and abandon the plan at the old Radar complex north of Eagle Pass. A note was left on the headless body… “We know who you are”… Scotts head has never been found.
Reference: information received from an informant (Pepee) who was in a Mexican prison on another matter.
Note; shortly after we left the prison the informant was stabbed and left in the prison yard dying a slow death from a stomach wound. He was left there until after sundown for all to see what happens when you talk to the American DEA.
This was covered in more detail in my manuscript “Deep Cover; Shallow Graves”.
As to El Torro? Pete. I was flying into El Torro when Neal Mathews was working on the article "I Ran Drugs for Uncle Sam" and just before I went to testifie to Senator Kerry's committee.
If you remember, I was running a company for the CIA called 'AVNet International; "the pilots aviation network "at Palomar Airport north of San Diego, CA. I was recruiting pilots for the "Forest Service" fire fighters at Hemit Valley CA and Grey Bull Montana.
You came to the AVNET office one day, remember? I told you then there was more than just JFK and that assassination, but you could not see beyond Kennedy. I think Mike Levine's first book, "Deep Cover", had just been released and you wanted me to meet him while he was on his book promo tour at Del Mar CA.
