The tragedy of the HSCA was that many of the people who started there under Sprague and Tanenbaum stayed on to the end, or pretty close to it.
That would mean people like Wecht, Fonzi, Al Gonzalez, Jon Blackmer. And they continued to do good work.
Blakey and Billings could not bury it all. So some of it got into the report.
But when one compares the report to the actual raw data, then it gets problematic. And I think this is why Blakey ultimately dismissed everyone and kept only four people to write the final report at the end. It ended up being a closed operation to keep the lid on Pandora's Box.
