Does an event at one location - such as the Pentagon - stop people from being killed elsewhere? Obviously a lot of what occurred that day is speculation.
Elias Davidsson's book on the flights and the accompanying phone calls - Olson's call being one of them - is pertinent and worth reading. The whole book is linked in PDF form below. After a few hundred pages of evidence, he makes a general speculation as to some of what occurred that day. It's well worth a read.

Truth be told I'm not that inclined these days to get sucked in arguments about what did or didn't hit the Pentagon. There are entire websites devoted to arguing that it was a plane, and entire websites devoted to arguing that it wasn't, and each new assertion has been met with a long debunking piece from the opposite camp. To an extent, I'm fairly happy to leave both sides to it.
