Just as an aside, an interesting CNN article from 1997.

Some of the names mentioned have very interesting linkages to neocon personnel. John Hamre had been running the Pentagon reconstruction project at one point. And, at the time of the articles publication, Zelikow's study group into Catastrophic Terrorism had been running about a week.

New to me recently. There were a number of terrorism study groups and conferences - gatherings of recurrent personnel and linked figures - running throughout that year. It wasn't just Zelikow's large scale effort that had been looking at the issue. The earliest was the 'Coping with NBC Terrorism: Policy and Technology Approaches Conference' run by CSIS at Harvard, and other centers at the Monterey Institute and Los Alamos National Laboratory. And, acting as an umbrella throughout the period of those conferences, another research group into imminent terrorism worked concurrently in the UK, ran for 18 months, began the same month that the first (earlier, February) 1997 conference commenced in the US, and finished the same month in 1998 when Zelikow's Harvard study finished. This later research project was undertaken at Paul Wilkinson's Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence at St. Andrews University in the UK, was financed by a grant provided by the Airey Neave Trust, and is referenced in a 1997 article by Wilkinson's associate Bruce Hoffman. Wilkinson is the guy who met with Oliver North in 1984 when North was working on Continuity of Government planning for the Iran Contra participants, and who then denied the meeting when evidence of it was revealed during congressional hearings.

Hoffman provides the forward to a March 2001 book, THE TERRORISM THREAT AND U.S GOVERNMENT RESPONSE, with various political researchers, think tank members and the Vice President of SAIC offering contributions. Among them is Peter Probst, a CIA/Pentagon employee who had 'served on the advisory board of the Middle East Forum to advocate and lobby for American intervention in the Middle East'. And Douglas Menarchik, who contributed the final chapter, ORGANIZING TO COMBAT 21ST CENTURY TERRORISM, oversaw a 1993 Pentagon study describing how 'an airplane could be used as a missile to bomb national landmarks'.

Interesting, Anthony. Remember too that a film had as its storyline a plane crashing into the WTC towers before the event and that scenario had been practiced in war games more than once. As the first WTC attack and the OKC bombings seem also to have been provocations and practice for bigger things, it was only a matter of time and place....

The setting up of COG from its inception in its current form, which apparently started slowly after WWII, was nearly complete by Reagan's term and is now just waiting for the 'go ahead' to declare Martial Law and suspend all [not just parts, as is NOW THE CASE] of the Constitution and Federal and State Laws.......

As 911 is not solved in the minds of the average citizen, I think another larger event of that kind can still be pulled off. As to the comments above on the desire to use the event for free demolition of the buildings - while true, it was a piggy-back reason [of which there were too many to list, such as destruction of corporate crime files in WTC7 and loss of some 2 trillion dollars at the Pentagon, etc..et al.], the MAIN reason in my firm opinion was to get Congress to sign off on [with a little 'persuasion' using the Anthrax attacks] on the [un]Patriot Act and declaration of a State of National Emergency, which is still in place, and COG which is still in place to an unknown and unknowable extent. This is IMO the first BIG step in a long-planned totalitarian control over the USA and beyond since 11.22.63 - but there have been others before and since 09.11.01

Those who do not learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.......911 was another Reichstag Fire and the Patriot Act was another Enabling Act. This is history repeating itself - and most not noticing due to the general ignorance and propaganda.

Recently, a piece in a mildly progressive magazine mused what Trump might do to deflect from his growing legal problems by pushing for or going along with another 'New Pearl Harbor' and total control over the USA by Martial Law and COG etc. I'm not sure which side of that part of the Deep Political Hidden Government he is on, but whether he does it or he has it done to him [or it comes one or a few Presidential terms later] is a chilling thought that should keep any AWARE person awake at night and fighting against it during their waking hours!.....
